Hypoxia and Medicine

I get a severe case of itching while swimming pool. Is there a medical condition for this?

Recently I've been swimming in swimming pools and starting feeling extraordinarily itchy several minutes after i start swimming. It's very bothersome to the point that I have to come out of the pool and when I come out, I start seeing isolated bumps forming on my skin (not really rashes or clusters of little bumps, mainly one or two big bumps like a mosquito bite). Soon after I leave the pool however, the itching stops and the next day I feel perfect. I'm wondering if this is a medical condition (I don't think it's swimmer's itch by the way because they last longer) or is it just the pool?

  1. could be some sort of allergy to the chemical in the pool. I would talk to your doctor.
  2. It's probably Maria she wants to pee in the pool. Sorry about the stupid answer but I just answered Maria on her peeing in the pool question. You could be allergic to a chemical that is being used.
  3. It is a possibility that you may be allergic to the chlorine in pools. Im assuming that you dont get this rash when you shower, so you are probably allergic to one of the chemicals used in swimming pools. I hope this helps. ~reb
  4. You may have allergic reaction to the chlorine or other chemicals in the pool. are your eyes red and itchy? Check with your doctor and he'll tell you what's wrong and what you should do...I've heard of things that can prevent chlorine reactions, but I can't put my fingers on it.
  5. The acid In the pool, to balance the Chlorine PH, Or you may be allergic. I think it is the pool maintenance, check with the owner, ask questions ,(he or they) may not know the water is too acid. They sure do not want to spoil your fun.
