Hypoxia and Medicine

Biology confusion! 10 points to the best answer!?

1.If an ecosystem lost a keystone species, which outcome would you expect? A new keystone species would replace the old keystone species. The oxygen supply in the ecosystem would be depleted. The population numbers of other species would change dramatically. The temperature of the ecosystem would increase. 2.The Gulf of Mexico provides 72 percent of the shrimp harvested in U.S. waters. Those populations are at risk because of the dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico. Which statement best describes this dead zone? It is a zone of ocean water that has almost no oxygen. It is a zone of ocean water that has almost no carbon dioxide. It is a zone that formed when it lost its keystone species. It is a zone that's been depleted by sea urchins.

  1. ask it for richard dawkings probably he knows
  2. I think the first one is that the population numbers of other species would change dramatically, because the food chains and food webs would change if one major species just disappeared.... as for the second, I did a project on hypoxia and dead zones... so I think it would be the first one.... a zone of water that has almost no oxygen....
