  1. Nootripil (also known as Piracetam) is used to treat cortical myoclonus. This disorder is characterised by involuntary movements or jerks, which can result in difficulty walking, writing, and on occasion speaking. I have not used this drug myself, but have read about it for a friend who suffers with severe myoclonus. Myoclonus can be a feature of MS, although I am not sure if this particular drug is indicated for it's treatment. The first line treatment for Myoclonus is generally Clonazepam. My friend takes this and finds it very effective. The drug is generally not recommened for under 16's, so I doubt your GP would prescribe it for your son. Although there are reports that the drug can be effective in treating childhood behaviour disorders.
