at what oxygen saturation level is supplemental oxygen recommended, according to the American College of Sport

Public Comments

  1. According to the American College of Sport, I have no idea; but I know that in the hospital if you get down to about 94%-90%, you would be put on an oxygen machine.
  2. try contacting the site i have listed below
  3. 90% is ok...however most non-invasive ways to test Oxygen Sats have a 3% error window, so 93% is what you would like as a low end of an O2 sat. Most people are usually around 95-99% withough oxygen...or any underlying condition. Most doctors I have come in contact with will titrate oxygen to maintain sats above 94%
  4. 90% or below at rest. most people will have 96% or above without any underlying problems and will decrease post activity but will return rather quickly Insurances wont pay unless its below 90% either
  5. 92%
  6. An odd question, a person who is fit and well should never need supplementary oxygen. I have a lung disease and have 95% at rest, when tested on a treadmill I drop to 88%, I am told thats borderline, less would need oxygen.
