Is there an easy to understand synopsis of the Armageddon plot line in "The Dead Zone."?

I enjoy watching the Dead Zone but somewhere along the line I became totally lost where the Armageddon plot is concerned. Can anyone sum it up for me? Last night's season premiere just totally lost me.

1. The best way would be to read episode synopses of the so-called Mythology episodes at the official USA network site. If you are still lost, you can read their entire scripts. They are usually the first and last episodes of the seasons.
