So...more of the same...BP Oil Spill...?

In 1979 the Bay of Campeche suffered a massive oil spill that took 9 months to cap, the current spill on the gulf is the result of a fail-safe failing an there are thousands and thousands of abandoned oil and gas wells on the gulf of Mexico none checked for their potential danger to the environment.(my point being they never learn) lets ignore the fact that the dead zone has doubled in size in the last two decades...Is the main reason for this feeble attempt to cap the spill simply because they are losing a fortune because lets face it, they don't seem to give a shit about the environment. ... @Curtis- They've said this before valves need to be shut cap needs to be tested...too soon to tell... EDIT-there ARE alternatives to oil out there but it would prove economically inefficient for big oil companies and YOUR government... @Infernal D- I'm sorry, I didn't include those stats at the start for fun, I thought I was trying to make it clear that this is NOT the first time something like this has happened. @Curtis- -Taylor Energy Wells 2004, ongoing. - New Orleans 2008 -Citgo refinery, Shell, Bass, Chevron 2006

  1. I want to know why our government turned its back on BP's safety requirements.
  2. The leak is stopped. Despite obama's efforts to make this disaster worse. You seem to hate big oil, yet you refuse to stop using their products. If you have to go back to 1979 to make an example, then the risk of oil is worth the reward.
  3. And conservatives want more deregulation, and less government oversight.
  4. attack of helicopter PeniS
  5. Symbolically speaking The great Whore of Babylon has been reveled And big Oil corporations are her children
  6. create a new lethal virus that will wipe out all evil and arrogant people, but leave the environment, animals, and some good people left. problem solved. i would suggest gathering all the worthless fucks and pick a fucked up arab country, then nuke it, but then the atmosphere would still be affected, so engineered virus would work better.
  7. Yes accidents happen, life sucks, move on. As long as we depend on oil (and we will for a very long time), these accidents will always be a risk.
  8. If you own a car you are a hypocrite. Just saying.......
  9. Ok we all know the spill is a tragedy.I just wonder what is YOUR solution? We are a nation that runs off oil.I mean there is probably no one that loves the environment more than me but I am a realist too who doesn't want to go back to horse and buggy days.
