Is there a medical condition that doesn't allow you to have sex?Not HIV or any sexually transmitted disease?

I was talking to my husband the other day and he said that his best friend told him that his wife wouldn’t have sex with him, something about a medical condition. I told him maybe a sexually transmitted disease, but he said that it was something else, that It sounded important and that his friend was worried. Is there really a disease or condition like that? That prevents you from having sex for a period of time? What is it called? Or is she lying to him? Any information would be helpful please.
