Does anyone have a good recovery from TBI pet story?
My puppy suffered hypoxia from his heart stopping during the neutering process 3 weeks ago. His heart stopped for almost 2 minutes. His recovery is very slow. He does show very slow improvment physically everyday. He still cannot walk on his own, we have to hold him up, but he is getting better. He has what is termed "Cortical Blindness" it is all in the brain. His pupils started to respond to light the next day after the trauma. But he still shows no signs of vision. I would like to know if anyone has had experience with dogs recovering from something similar, and if they regained vision, how long did it take?

- My dog got hit by a car right in the middle of her forehead. After 2 weeks at the vet she came home JUST like your dog.....blindness, could not walk, did not bark or hear well. The BEST, BEST thing we did was call the breeder where we originally bought her and asked if she could come there for a few weeks to re-learn doggy stuff. The breeder was SO nice....we paid to board our dog there...just as if we were on vacation...for 3 weeks........she started out by letting the dog in the room with one dog....by the end, she was out with the other dogs...she was a very wobbly walker, but she walked!! She learned how to bark again too. She always had some trouble with her vision, but we limited her to a small part of the house and she really memorized where everything was and rarely ran into stuff......she was definitely hard of hearing, but after a while she walked/ran totally fine. She lived another 8 years. (was 7 at time of accident). Good Luck. See if you can get her around some other dogs.
