what is microvascular ischemia?

my sister had minimal microvascular ischemia periventricular white matter of the brain . what is it?

1. Microvascular means small blood vessels. Ischemia means lack of oxygen. Basically there is some damage to the area due to lack of oxygen in the small vessels. Microvascular disease is common in diabetics, hypertensives and the elderly. This may not have any symptoms or clinical significance. Your sister should discuss these findings with her doctor who knows her medical history.
