Continuous Carbon Dioxide (Co2) monitoring from blood?

Are there any devices which give me continous carbon dioxide level in blood ? Pulse oximeter which gives Oxygen saturation level of blood does it indirectly gives the level of Co2 in blood ?

1. Not that I am aware of.... The only way that I am aware of is through an ABG. ARTERIAL BLOOD GAS. This is when they stick a needle in an artery on your forearm and draw up some arterial blood. They then take this blood and run it through a machine to get these results. I believe this is honestly the only way to find the result of yoru CO2. Pulse ox is the only other way besides ABG's to find out your sat. O2 sats don't indirectly give you the CO2 level...the levels can fluctuate so much. You may have a good sat but bad CO2 for metabolic reasons. Sometimes you may have a bad sat and a normal CO2. Hope this helps.
2. I believe that only a blood test for blood gases gives you the Co2 level. I have a pulse ox, and that tells me how much 02 is in my body.
