Hypoxia and Medicine

I have no health insurance but need medical advice?

I have no health insurance, so seeing a doctor in the near future is not something likely for me. However I have been having symptoms that are scaring me and seem to be getting worse. I am a musician and a singer (not professionally) and this scares me because I'm afraid it will effect my hobby. I am healthy, 20 years old, and do no drugs, do not smoke, or drink alcohol. My symptoms include: *Fatigue *Loss of strength *Slurring Words *Writing/ saying words/numbers backwards or in the wrong order *Frequently saying the wrong word, while using a work that "relates" somehow in my mind (i.e. calling an orange (fruit) a "green" - green is opposite orange on color wheel) *Poor grip in right hand *Loss of dexterity in left hand (while playing music) What could be causing this? It is get progressively worse and I want to know if anyone thinks its a serious condition or something that will go away. Thank you.

  1. Go anyway. A simply checkup won't cost that much money.
  2. I don't want to scare you, but the cognitive issues (trouble with thinking) and the physical things you describe sound an awful lot like multiple sclerosis, and you're the right age to start showing symptoms. You're describing both general symptoms (fatigue, loss of strength) and specific symptoms (slurring, loss of muscle strength and dexterity in your hands) that are affecting both your peripheral nervous system (hands) and cranial nerves (slurred speech). The progression is not a good thing. Seriously -- check into Medicaid if you qualify. MS can be treated in many cases and if you don't get it treated these deficits may be permanent. This is not the time to be proud.
