2. Well, since I work for a cell phone company, I picture the logo of the company for which those ads are aired :-) They're a competitor.
3. I am sure that at one time I might have equated that with either a Steven King novel or a Grateful Dead concert, but after a quarter of a century I now immediately jump to "area where cel-phone does not work".
