Will my medical condition stop me from joing the USMC?!?
I have something called Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT)...Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia is a rare inherited disorder characterized by malformations of various blood vessels usually resulting in excessive bleeding (hemorrhaging). Chronic nosebleeds are often the first apparent symptom associated with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. Malformation of various blood vessels may result in abnormalities affecting various organ systems of the body including the lungs, brain, and liver. Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia is inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. I haven't had any problems with it in 4 years. Will this stop me from joining the USMC?

- I'm not an expert, but i believe that an excessive bleeding disorder will stop you from getting into any militart branch.
- Yes it will stop you, what will you do in the heat of the battle and your nose starts bleeding?
- It's very possible. If you call your local recruiter, he'll be able to tell you for sure. Edit: Ok, your recruiter may not be able to tell you FOR SURE, but he'll have a lot better idea than anyone on here, and can probably give you an answer without your taking a physical. They regularly turn away people with asthma and other conditions without the time and expense of an exam. And I'm not just guessing.
- The lady that said Just ask your recruiter He will know for sure .FALSE To many people answering for the sake of answering. This should be called Yahoo Guessing. Everyone has to go through a real good med exam and It's all up to the Docs to decide. Just go through your exam and Be honest and they will tell you. A lot of money goes into you and they don't like to get you all trained just to give you a medical discharge
