Are auto modifications such as plenums, air intake systems, K&N filters, etc effective at high altitudes?
I have an 03' 350z and considering plenum spacer, will this be a good modification for high altitude driving (7200ft)? I have always heard that air density dramatically decreases. About 3% horsepower loss every 1000 ft. With less air density will this mod be effective? Wish I could afford turbo!

- yeah as i read your question i was like this person needs a turbo or a supercharger. any thing you do that will increase performance at sea level would increase it at altitude as well but will it make enough difference to justify the expense? I don't know. good luck do some time trials before and after if you decide to go forward. that is the real test.
- Your fuel injection is you best friend because it will adjust for perfect air/fuel mixtures . We drove our vehicle with a carburetor from 7000 ft from Colorado and it had no power on the hills .
