Is there a medical condition that causes a normal person not to be able to sprint very fast?
I know a 13-year-old boy who is a great baseball player. He can hit the ball anywhere on the field he wants, but cannot sprint at all. When he runs around the bases, he looks like he is jogging at the same speed. He says he is running as fast as he can, but it looks like he should be able to run much faster. Is there a medical condition that could cause him to not be able to run any faster?

- Genetics
- Asthma, out of condition, just doesn't have the talent to run that fast??? Maybe he's not breathing while he's running and he's not realizing it.
- Yes. It is akin to another affliction that he probably also suffers from. It is the inability to jump very high. The cause of this is being white. If he were black he would be able to run and jump like jesse owens. This medical condition is well documented.
- Genetics. Some people are unusually fast runners, some the opposite. Quiet often it is genetics that separates the freakishly good athletes from average athletes.
- its called obesity.
