Hemorrhoids problem. People who have had hemorrhoids diagnosed and treated answer only please.?
I am not entirely sure if I have hemorrhoids as I don't feel any bumps. But the symptoms I am experiencing are: Streaks of bright red blood on the toilet paper I wiped with. Either mucus, water, or blood leaks at random times (unfortunately this includes when I am in public) Extreme irritation, but no itching I'm really reluctant on seeing a doctor for a number of reasons: cost and I heard they have to stick either their fingers (I know they will be wearing lubricated gloves, but still) or a small telescope up my rectum to diagnose hemorrhoids. I've heard you could treat yourself, but only if you aren't bleeding in the rectum. Now the questions: Do I actually have hemorrhoids, or do I have something else? Is my condition so bad that I should start seeking medical attention as soon as I can? What are the consequences if I try to treat it on my own? For those who have gotten it diagnosed and treated, how was the experience like? Painful? Weird? Ah, I've also been experiencing streaks of blood for a month now. But the bit about blood, mucus, and water leaking at random times has only happened recently (For like 1 1/2 weeks now). I have not had diarrhea for quite some time (half a year or so), much less bloody diarrhea (which is a main symptom for ulcerative colitis). As far as the other symptoms go for ulcerative colitis, I have not experience any of them save for rectal bleeding and abdominal pain.

- I'm sorry but you are going to have to see the doctor. The bloody mucus & anal discharge needs a medical diagnosis. My husband had ulcerative colitis and your symptoms sound more like that. But again, that's not a diagnosis, just a reminder that there are other conditions that will not be cured and may even be aggravated by an OTC hemorrhoid treatment. I've had the rectal exam, even as far as the colonoscopy and none of it was as bad as I expected.
- First and foremost hemorrhoids can come and go. Secondly you can have external or internal hemorrhoids. What causes them, straining while going to the toilet, so you might be having too much fibre in your diet and not enough fruit. The idea is to get the right consistency, easier said than done. The best thing for you to try first is some Prunes! I have the dried prunes and they take the fluid into the bowel, so make the stools easier to pass. If the stool is hard, you will pop a vein: hemorrhoid when straining to pass it. So if you can correct your diet, get the stools of the right consistency then the pile is just as likely to return to where it came. Yes you can buy over the counter creams, however I do not think this is the problem. You state you are also leakage and this is usually a sign that you are constipated, the bowel is overflowing as the stools are blocking the system. Therefore eat two or three prunes with or after a meal and see if this eases the problem. Best of Luck
- i had hemroids for years what you are describing sounds like hemroids but i am no doctor the best thing i can say is that if it is hemorrhoids they can be taken care of with some simple herbs
