How have people living on Everest adapted to life at such high altitudes?

- There are no people living on Everest. But the Sherpa and other peoples who live in the valleys near Everest have unique hemoglobin-binding enzymes, doubled nitric oxide production, hearts that can utilize glucose, and lungs with an increased sensitivity to low oxygen.
