What is the technical name for this medical condition?
There is a medical condition I recently became aware of involving females. Due to genetics, one of the x chromosomes is damaged. This not only prevents child bearing but also stunts growth slightly. Is anyone aware of the name of this condition? It could possibly be a syndrome or disease, i am not sure. I just want to know the name so I can find out more about it. I would like to understand it more because it affects someone very important in my life. Thanks.

- Turner's Syndrome (Bonnevie-Ullrich Syndrome) Turner's syndrome results from complete or partial absence of 1 of the 2 sex chromosomes, producing a phenotypic female. Diagnosis is based on clinical findings and confirmed by karyotype analysis. Treatment depends on manifestations and may include surgery for cardiac anomalies, and often growth hormone therapy for short stature and estrogen replacement for pubertal failure.(Merck) Turner syndrome or Ullrich-Turner syndrome encompasses several conditions, of which monosomy X is most common. It is a chromosomal disorder affecting females in which all or part of one of the X chromosomes is absent. Occurring in 1 out of every 2500 girls, the syndrome manifests itself in a number of ways. There are characteristic physical abnormalities, such as short stature, lymphoedema, broad chest, low hairline, low-set ears, and webbed neck. Girls with TS typically experience gonadal dysfunction with subsequent amenorrhea and infertility. Concurrent health concerns are also frequently present, including congenital heart disease, hypothyroidism, ophthalmological problems, and otological concerns. Finally, a specific pattern of cognitive deficits is often observed, with particular difficulties in visuospatial, mathematic, and memory areas. (Wikipedia)
