Can you have hypoxia without any symptoms? What would they be caused by?

- Why are you asking this?! Hypoxia without symptoms? You would probably be dead by then. Hypoxia is your brain without oxygen- can be caused by a number of things such as choking, drowning, suffocating, cardiac arrest.
- thats like asking if you can have cold with no symptoms
- COPD'ers are usually hypoxic. Their disease is chronic. Their respiratory system has adjusted to the low levels of O2. I have been shocked numerous times.... I have drawn ABG's on people who joked around with me the whole time I was drawing the blood. I would run the blood through our ABG machine and would be floored to see how low their level of O2 was.... anyone else with a low O2 level like that would have been knocked out or not breathing.
