Effect that increasing altitude has on blood-oxygen saturation?

Public Comments

  1. Less oxygen to breathe in so lower blood oxygen levels also higher altitude means less pressure which means that less oxygen is able to be dissolved
  2. Since you are at a higher altitude, there is less oxygen to be absorbed by the red blood cells, therefore there is less blood-oxygen saturation. If you are acclimated to the high altitude you don't have to worry about that.
