A 47-year-old female in generally good health. Problems have been ongoing for six months, but sometimes worse than others. The most serious problems include sudden loss of balance and falling around the house, difficulty judging the height of things like steps up and steps down, knocking things over, spilling and dropping things often. The worse problem is numerous kitchen mishaps, such as accidental burns while cooking and using knives or scissors. On occasion, there is also other cognitive stuff, like being unable to recall or spell simple words, transposing letters and numbers. Whereas multi-tasking was once very easy, now even doing one thing at a time requires significant focus and time. The one possible medical issue may be chronic insomnia of LONG standing (over thirteen years), due to a year-long period where 24/7 vigilance over a terminally ill child with serious feeding and breathing problems and seizures was necessary. The child passed away over ten years ago, but since that time, deep, restorative sleep has been severely lacking. Dozens of OTC and prescription sleep medications, including ones typically used for other conditions, have been successful in treating the sleep problem. Correction: Meant to say the drugs have NOT been successful in treating the sleep problem
