Oxygen pill - is there such a thing, does it work, is it available in the US?
Someone told me that, in Europe, oxygen pills are available, and that they really work to bring your oxygen saturation level up. Were they pulling my leg? If not, is there a way to purchase them in the US? OK guys. I'm not a complete idiot. We are obviously not talking about a pill made of O2. This is a pill that is supposedly touted for somehow increasing a person's O2 saturation level. I don't know what it is made of or how it works. Has anyone heard of such an animal?

- Watch your limp while your leg's healing. The amount of oxygen that could be put in a pill is quite limited, and you can't get around the basic laws of physics.
- No- it sounds impossible.
- Oxygen is a gas. Not easy to put into pill form. When we need to increase oxygen saturation, we give supplemental oxygen from a tank using a nasal cannula or a face mask.
- It does not sound possible for me. It is possible to compress gas and put it in a pill form, but I wouldn’t want to put that inside my body. What if it exploded? That does not sound too cheerful. If you take it orally, it will go directly into your stomach. Even if it works, it will only give you a lot of gas inside you GI system. If you want to increase your O2sat level, you will need some kind of method which involves with you lungs, or your cardiovascular-respiratory system, not your gastrointestinal system. Hope this help.
