  1. Hypoxia is low oxygen in the tissues. It can be caused by numerous things. Ulcers, I don't know about, and edema is excessive fluid buildup.
  2. Hypoxia is a lack of oxygen, oedema is swelling.
  3. Hypoxia is a defiecny of oxygen reaching the tissues and organs in the body. Stage one ulcer could depend on whether or not it was a bedsore or cancer. Edema is swelling of the tissues. Try medlineplus.com for more answers.
  4. hypoxia = lack of oxigen for the use of the body *can be caused by choking, metabolic dysfunctions, pulmonary distresss,diseases,drowning..anything that take away the oxigen or lack of oxigen for use.. Ulcer=slough off of the surface area of skin, epithelials, mucous layers(like in stomach ulcers) it can be caused by traumas, diseases, infections ,chemical(like acids or alkalines) and etc.. Edema=swelling due to dysbalance of oncotic and osmotic pressures in our blood vessels tht causes plasma to come out from blood vessels to tissues..causes(chronic heart failure, stting too long in the plane, kidney problems, leakage of proteins tru kidney filters,hypertensions,etc...)
  5. The others have answered correctly about hypoxia and edema. The stage one ulcer is also known as a bed sore or a pressure ulcer. Stage one is just when it starts out and just broke the skin. Older people have extremely thin skin. When they are laying or sitting in one position for too long, the pressure on the skin can break the skin and cause a sore. Older people can also have a loss of sensation that prevents them from knowing they have to move. Think back to a time when you were sitting in a chair and had to shift position because it started hurting your rear end. Your body told you to move because too much pressure was being exerted on one spot. If you didn't move, eventually your skin would have broke down and it would have caused a sore. Although bed sores cannot be prevented 100% of the time even with the most diligent of care, nurses and their aids are responsible for turning the patient every 2 hours or so to help prevent bed sores. But like I said, since older people's skin is so thin and fragile, sometimes it cannot be prevented.
