Can high altitudes effect menstrual cycle?

My gf is in cali and in an area where the altitude is high and she should have started her cycle this week but didnt yet i'm worried that she might be pregnant...Can the fact that shes in an area where the altitude is high b the reason that she has not started her cycle.

1. Yes, its possible. Still once you get back to the "normal" altitude and its over 6 weeks since the last period, I would suggest doing a pregnancy test.
