How do oxygen and carbon dioxide change with depth?
What processes affect the concentration of these gases at different depths and what happens in areas with anoxia?

- Solubility of gases in fluid liquid e.g water changes with pressure . As water depth increases, the pressure increases and thus concentration of different gases vary in accordance with thier solubilty. In atmosphere , however, the heavier gases have the tendency to settle down according to their molecular density ( the heaviest one at the bottom), if the atmosphere is not disturbed for long time. In anoxia regions , co2, being the heavier has greater concentration at ground level than oxygen , which is lighter and thus anoxia results.
