Is there a medical condition that can explain dull thinking in the late afternoon or evening?
It's weird. I can be a night owl, up until 4am comfortably reading, writing, or on the computer. But if I'm at work, closing the shop, I get so stupid about 5 or 6pm. I'm trying to decide if it is simply stress related (it is kind of crazy in that place by then) or if... well I don't know, maybe my sugar drops later in the day or something... Anyone else have that problem, or know of a medical condition that causes it, or maybe know of an herbal remedy for late afternoon stupidity?

- Hypoglycemia..stress...blood pressure....if it keeps up, a checkup with your doc might be good.
- take an afternoon nap and you`ll be fine ,your body is telling you to rest .
- ALERT, alert. This one has morning thinking
- if it is a sleeping disorder it is because of stress and stuff, sometimes i stay up until 1 but not 4 like u. i read that sleep disorders have 2 do with your past and stf like that ??? mostly people stay up later durnin the summer because they arent doin to school or work as often, most day when i know i want to get a good nights rest then i work out or do housework so i will be tired earlier !!!
- Being overly tired can cause it. Lack of sleep
- If your up late then its reasonable to believe that you would start slowing down later in the day. Go to bed earlyer, the more sleep that you get before midnight the more rested and energetic you will be, and that energy will last longer. Avoid sugars and such, you sugar level will spike if you eat a bunch or it for lunch and then plummet below where they started around five. Taking a brisk walk or jog will also help keep your mind active, and doing things like Sudoku puzzles may also help.
- I often feel the same way, but then again, I'm a teenager, and feel the need to sleep 24hrs a day!! Stress is a big issue... Are you working too hard and not getting enough time for yourself?? Anxiety could be another issue. Make sure you're not sliding into a mild depression, because honestly, that would suck. When you get home from work, make sure you're relaxed. Sit down, listen to music, journal, watch some television... just stay relaxed. Also, try taking small snacks to work with you to help you feel energized. Drink lots of water to help you stay fresh, and don't stay up late on the computer. It causes eye strain and groggy mornings. I hope this helps you out... Nothing is worse than a bad day!! *De[nn]ie*
- yeah, i know how youe feel, i'm the same way. I think it's just because that's when our bodies strt getting tired from perhaps a lack of sleep, but then we push through it and we're good for the night. I'm not really sure why though, some people are just like that.
