Does the medical condition of being flat-footed prevent a person from joining the service?

Years ago, this was one of the medical conditions that prevented a person from joining the military due to the lenght of time they march and are on their feet.

  1. you can join.................
  2. I think they're taking pretty much anybody these days. I mean, they raised the enlistment age to around 50, who wouldn't they take?
  3. If you really want to join; call them up and ask them. I heard years ago that they didn't take a flat-footed person; but things could have changed with all of the good fitting shoes that we have today.
  4. In the past it would, but not anymore.
  5. Flat feet is no longer an issue for military service. If they find you fit for duty in every other way, they'll simply issue you special orthopedic shoes to compensate for the condition. If you really want to avoid mil service, it is easier to simply tell them you're gay. That's a sure fire way to be rejected. And, since the records are confidential, the only ones to know are you and the gov't. You can always tell your friends whatever story you wish.
