What is hyperoxic anoxia? Is it poisoning by toxins in oxygen? A medical dictionary definition would be appreciated if you can find one. I need to keep this "professional".
Why does anoxia cause cell death? I understand that most of a cell's chemical processes would stop because of a lack of energy, but what causes the cell to "die"? Why doesn't it just drop what it's doing (so to speak) and wait until it has an oxygen supply again? Why does the inability of a cell to carry out respiration cause it to die? Ashkon, you mentioned some required processes that would cause death if not negatively regulated. Anyone have any idea what sorts of processes those would be?
Anoxia and Brain damage? Why are neurons and other brain cells more vulnerable than other cells to oxygen depravation? Is it becaue they are more sensitive to changes in pH that result from anoxia? If so , why?
Brain anoxia and reperfusion iojury? I have come to know the following happens during a cardiac arrest. 1) Anoxia during cardiac causes exitotoxosis due to the ischeamic cascase. This is evident here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ischemic_cascade So why are there no covulsion during a cardiac arrest no matter how long it lasts? 2) Reperfusion injury where reoxygenation starts using the built up glutamate store in the brain to over-exite the brain. This is evident here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reperfusion_injury But I do not hear much about patients convulsing then. They may be having a very long form of atonic convulsions during cardiac arrest or reperfusion injury, but how would we know? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atonic_seizure Do you know if they do, and if they do not why, because reading all the stuff it says about ishemic cascades, it does not add up with what really happens to cardiac arrest patients. What is it that I am missing here, explain in detial? CREED
what causes anoxia? listed on death certificate as cause of death, but also stated died of natural causes. Is this unusual? I am not talking about anorexia which is starvation.
My baby died 7 month gestation of anoxia intrauterine, can u help us understan what could have went wrong help anoxia intrauterine means not having enough oxygen but i cannot understand, everything was going fine all of a sudden the baby stopped moving inside the womb. This has us very stressed and frustrated, we were waiting for this baby for eight years and now everything has gone down hill. If there is someone that can help us please tell us something, because even the umbilical cord was no wrapped around the babies neck, the baby was in perfect shape already. If there is a doctor out there or someone with some knowledge please help us.
Did Terri Schiavo had Anoxia? The real question is though, I want to know, have anyone in a coma, which was caused by anoxia, ever waked from it and have a long life? I am just curious about this, because I might need it for this project I have to hand in today.
Can heart conditions and/or diseases be passed on genetically? I had congestive heart failure. The reason has never been determined. My cardiologist theorizes that I may have gotten it through genetics or a virus before birth. Now I have been diagnosed with anoxia cardiomyopathy and hypertension. Will these conditions be passed on to my kids (if I have them)? Serious responses only please. I am being serious. There are no other cases of heart disease in my family. I'm the only person that has ever had these conditions.
Why has humanity never studied the real time fetal response to uterine orgasm. Jeff Schofield? Let the fetus have its say regarding sex during pregnancy and in particular the fetal response to uterine orgasm. The contractions of delivery during birth cut off the blood supply and would suffocate the fetus if not spaced out. Uterine orgasm during pregnancy can last up to 30 minutes. The same physiology must exist as during birth with the cappillaries at the uterine-placental junction being clamped shut by the contracting uterine muscles. It is obvious the fetus survives, but what if repeated breath holding contests inutero lead to asthma etc. What if the reduced flow of cord blood leads to toxemia and anoxia as in a drowning victim? 5000 fetuses are aborted daily in America. If we can justify intruding on the fetal space with abortion, I pray the time has come that some brave researchers will use the high-tech fetal monitoring tests to let the fetus have its say. What are we so terrified of learning? Sex during pregnancy is such a common human experience, fear not I AM
Any suggestions for a band name? So i'm making a new band {ages 12-14} and we really need a name.It will be 4 or 5 of us. We thought of Anoxia but it doesn't seem right.HELP!

Question about Rotenone? Rotenone, a natural poisonous metabolite found in derris root from tropical rain forests, is used as an insecticide (insect killer) and ichthyocide (fish killer). Its mode of action is through binding to an Electron Transport Chain molecule located within the inner mitochondrial membrane. You would correctly predict that rotenone would _________ nerve transmission (action potentials) in neurons of herbivorous insects by __________. a) decrease ; binding with post synaptic acetylcholine receptors b) increase ; increasing synthesis and release of acetylcholine from anoxia c) decrease ; decreasing production of ATP to drive the NA+-K+pump d) increase ; mimicking acetylcholine Please include your reasoning behind your answer. Thank you.
Help Im sooo confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!? Hi recently my daughter was born sleeping due to Anoxia-lack of oxygen through the cord. I need help Im wondering if this is likely with other pregnancies to come??? Im so worried of losing another precious angel!!!!!!!
Question About Fish In A Pond? Which of the following conditions will most likely result in anoxia effect and may kill the largest number of fish in a pond? a) a cold day during an algal bloom b) a hot day during an algal bloom c) a cold night during an algal bloom d) a hot night during an algal bloom e) a cold day
More callenge(Q2).......why not?? A recent study says:Human beings need oxygen and air pressuer in order to live.Breathing is made possible by the oxygen in the atmosphere reaching the air sacs in our lungs. As elevation rises, however, atmospheric pressuer goes down as the atmosphere becomes thinner. Therefore the amount of oxygen entering the blood stream declines and it becomes harder to breath. As the air sacs grow narrow and contract,we feel as if we cannot breath. Someone at 5.000-7.500meters above sea-level may faint because of breathing difficulties. That explains the presence of oxygen equipmentin planes and the special system that regulate the air pressuer when planes fly at 9.000-10.000.Anoxia occurs when the oxygen fails to reach the tissues. This oxygen deficiency occurs at height of 3.000-4.500meters. IN THE COMPARISON MADE IN THE VERSE BELOW,this physical truth, the changes that take place in chest with increasing the height,is indicated in these terms(IN THE Holy QURAN centuries ago) ALLAh says"WHEN ALLAH DESIRES TO GUIDE SOMEONE,HE EXPAND HIS BREAST TO ISLAM,WHEN HE DESIRES TO MISGUIDE SOMEONE,HE MAKES HIS BREAST NARROW AND CONSTRICTED AS IF HE WERE CLIMBING UP INTO THE SKY..6:125)" MY Q. IS:if u deny that this Quran is from ALLAH can u make a chapter like it with such a scientific miracle? ALLAH says"AND IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT CONCERNING THAT WHICH WE HAVE SENT DOWN TO OUR SLAVE,THEN PRODUCE A CHAPTER LIKE IT AND CALL YOUR WITNESS BESIDE ALLAH,IF YOU TRUTHFUL"quran. N.B:When ALLAH says about Himself WE,HE means majesty not plural as ALLAH is ONE.
hematology testing? it was suggested to my son that he have neurtoxicology, hypoxia/anoxia & neuroimmunology screenings done, also to look for toxins/heavy metals, lead etc...what tests exactly do we request?? it seems that we can't get an answer nor much help from our pmd nor from the neuro dr. that he is seeing. he has been to brain matters in Colorado & had a pet scan done 1 yr ago & they suggested that we follow up at home, but again, we seem to be hitting a brick wall, all they want to do is to keep trying him on meds for bipolar which do not help him at all, the side effects are not worth keeping him on the meds.. He strongly feels that ther may be something else going on and possibly the testing may help us or let us know that there is nothing else. If possible, i would like to know exactly how these test are performed, the more info we have the better educated we are as to what to expect. i would greatly appreciate any help whatso ever.. we are just trying to get him well..thanks sooo much..

Mothers that have given birth in the last 3 months! Question..? I'm at Sophomore in college, and for my Child Development class i have to interview people who have delivered in the last 3 months.. i don't personally know anyone that has so i have resorted to this.. I would greatly appreciate you taking the time to fill this out : ) >>how old is your baby? name of baby? >>Is this your first baby? if not, how many previous pregnancies have you had? Labor and Delivery 1.were you informed about what labor would be like? 2.did you know what would take place physiologically to you and the baby? 3.did you take any prenatal course or childbirth education course? 4.how did you know labor had begun? 5.what care and attention did you recieve as labor progressed? during deliver? after deliver? 6.were drugs administered during the birth? who made the decision about the neccessity for drugs? 7.where did the birth take place? home? hospital? alternative center or birthing room? other? 8.was the delivery considered normal or were there complications? for mother? for infant?(for example:prematurely, excessive bleeding, anoxia, malpresentation, forceps delivery, cesarian section) 9.who was present during the labor? the delivery? 10.were you able to hold or touch the baby immediately after delivery? Blind pilot rescued by RAF? Brilliant rescue, being a PPL myself, but, on the news, it said that the 152 was flying at 15,000 feet when it happened. FIFTEEN THOUSAND FEET, in a 152, non-pressurized, over UK??? Has the pilot lost his senses or forgotten his "Human Factors' manual"? You don't fly without oxygen above 10,000'... Is it a mistake of the reporters? And, if not, WHY was he flying soo high (and over low grounds!)? I live in Portugal, with a good wheather, but at 6000', I need the heater on. At 10, I feel the first effects of anoxia and have to concentrate to continue flying. At 15? Never been! Our free fallers at the club drop from 12, and that is their maximum. So, 15? WHY? Rosebud: most likely! At that altitude, the lack of oxygen poses a serious threat to the brain AND the heart! Getting there? 250'/min: 60 minutes. I do not know where he took off, but must have been at least over 100 miles (80 knots is a VERY good climbing speed for a 152!) Helen: Elvington may be long, but it is "out of service" and has no emergency support.
Should I tell my friend why she didn't get hired for a job? My friend & I work for United Healthcare, it's an awful place. Mandatory overtime, very poor benefits, very stressful. My friend also takes care of her aging mother with dementia &raising 2 grandkids because mom/dad are in jail for drugs. She has steadily gained weight over past 12 years, & is now morbidly obese. We started walking last year on 1/1 & she has to go very slow so her knee doesn't buckle out but does best she can. Our benefits do not cover dietician, gym, meds, gastric bypass, nothing to do with weight(except for bulemia/anoxia which seems unfair as food addiction is an eating disorder too). Went thru 2 doc's till she found one that helped her set up menu plan of 1800 cals a day. while she was on vacation for 3 weeks(if we don't use our vacation we lose it) She lost total 18lbs! then back to work & weight loss stopped. Her doctor feels it's stress, so she decided to look for new job. She has applied at over 30 places, with great resume,,but never gets past interview. So she applied at my sister's doctor's office, it was her & 1 other candidate who didn't know ICD 9 or how to bill. She was a shoo in for job. She didn't get it and my sister told me her boss said she would never hire such a fat person because fat people have no charachter..My friend is devasted since my sister told her the other person had no medical insurance experience. Even if she sued, she would have to prove the woman said it. So do I tell her? I think she already knows why she cannot get another job. It's so sad because this job at United Healthcare is really killing her slowly. Also, do you know if in California a person can be on disability for morbid obesity? If she could be off work long enough to lose weight so she could walk farther/longer on that bad knee. ANY ideas at all, she's a great lady & I see how hard she is trying, and want to help.
Questions about Brain Damage? Paul suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. His emotions, especially depression and anxiety, are running out of control. Locate the probable site of his brain lesion. AMYGDALA Anoxia (lack of oxygen) during birth left Kevin uncoordinated. His movements are jerky because of damage to his “little brain” that controls motor movement. His brain damage is probably located where? Cerebellum? Jimmy has Korsakoff’s syndrome. He lives in a psychiatric institute. Each time his neurologist visits, Jimmy says, “Hi ya, doc, how are you doing?”. But even though Jimmy has talked to his neurologist dozens of times, he actually doesn’t remember ever having met him before. He only recognizes him as a doctor because of his white lab coat. However, Jimmy can remember all his life events before he became ill and can describe in detail his experiences in World War II. Which of Jimmy’s brain structures is likely damaged? - this is either the THALAMUS OR HIPPOCAMPUS (i think i have this narrowed down) Due to a drug overdose, the area of Todd’s brain which relays sensory information (such as that involving sounds, sight, taste and touch) to other areas of his brain is damaged. Todd remains in a catatonic, unresponsive state. Where is the damage? - the thalamus (forebrain)? Mary has epileptic seizures. Mary reported that the seizures are usually preceded by an “aura” which involves the sensation that something is touching her right leg. This gave the neurologist a clue as to the lesion’s location. Where is her epileptic “focus” likely to be? - parietal lobe of cerebellum ; primary somatosensory complex During an operation for the removal of damaged brain matter, the surgeon stimulated the brain with an electrode. The patient reported hearing music. Where was the electrode placed? - the temporal lobe of cerebellum? Lunar pilot Edwin Aldrin reported seeing mysterious flashes of light during the Apollo II mission. The visual display apparently resulted from the high energy particles passing through these portions of the brain. - i have no idea about this one!! Nona was driving home after the night shift. She was very tired and the roads were bad. Her car hit a pot-hole that was invisible in the rain. It threw her car off the road and she slid to a sudden stop, assisted by a telephone pole. As her head hit the window, she passed out and woke up in the hospital several days later. Although Nona seemed to recover completely, her friends and family report that she seems like a different person. She is less responsible about going to work, and she is louder and less polite than she used to be. Where do you think the damage is? - frontal lobe of cerebellum Granny was sitting in her chair watching TV. She tried to reach for the remote and noticed that she could not move her left arm. She could feel things that touched her hand or arm, but her arm no longer responded to her wishes. Where’s the damage? - primary motor cortex of frontal lobe I believe the answer to the first question is right, however having trouble with the rest.. but put what I THINK is RIGHT. Thanks for ANY help!
Will human CO2 emissions cause another mass extinction event? A 2008 study by Charlie Vernon - former Chief Scientist of the Australian Institute of Marine Science - investigated the 5 mass extinction events in the Earth's history over the past 500 million years. The study concluded "The five mass extinction events that the earth has so far experienced have impacted coral reefs as much or more than any other major ecosystem. Each has left the Earth without living reefs for at least four million years, intervals so great that they are commonly referred to as ‘reef gaps’" "primary causes of mass extinctions are linked in various ways to the carbon cycle in general and ocean chemistry in particular with clear association with atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. The prospect of ocean acidification is potentially the most serious of all predicted outcomes of anthropogenic carbon dioxide increase. This study concludes that acidification has the potential to trigger a sixth mass extinction event" "The oceans, including the ocean depths, respond slowly to atmospheric conditions, whether a temperature increase or a CO2 build-up, which means that the full effects of acidification will take decades to centuries to develop. Nevertheless, this is only a delay: the factors causing acidification will have irretrievably committed the Earth to the process long before its effects become anywhere near as obvious as those of mass bleaching today." "Ultimately—and here we are looking at centuries rather than millennia—the ocean pH will drop to a point at which a host of other chemical changes, including anoxia, would be expected. If this happens, the state of the oceans at the end of K/T, or something like it, will become a reality and the Earth will enter the sixth mass extinction. Another 1–3 decades like our last will see the Earth committed to a trajectory from which there will be no escape." http://iod.ucsd.edu/courses/sio278/documents/veron_08_coral_reefs.pdf So according to this study, unless we begin to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions within the next couple of decades, we may trigger an eventual mass extinction event. What do you think - will human CO2 emissions cause another mass extinction event?
What are the chances of Hypoxia here? My father was in the CICU at the hospital for pneumonia, he was getting better on the antibiotics that they gave him. I guess my real question is how fishy this sounds or if there were mistakes made, or something that could have been done to help him. Here it is: He was in CICU for pneumonia. The nurses didn't give him his antibiotics that the doctor ordered the first day he was there, but after he asked them about the antibiotics several times they finally gave them to him the following day. [This is the story we were given] 2 days later(The day he was supposed to be released) at 12:30AM he was talking to the nurse and told her that he was having trouble breathing, then he just stopped breathing. His heart was still beating for a little over a minute after the breathing ceased. The nurse administered CPR and Bag Oxygen and called the "Code" Blue. He was administered Bag Oxygen during the CPR and they got a heartbeat back quite quick, but it was irregular for 25 minutes. His vitals were stabilized at 12:55AM. The Nurse didn't call me (or anyone else in the family) until 5:45AM. I was told that he had suffered clinical death for a short period of time the night before but the nurse didn't go into any detail. [After all that] I went to the hospital immediately, but didn't get there until shortly after 7AM which is the shift change time. My father was having bad seizures at the time and I asked if there was something they could give him for them because I know seizures can damage the body. (They were every 5-10 seconds, were full body including eyes, and lasted about 1 second) They administered a tranquilizer to halt the seizures. The doctor that came to see him in the morning that we spoke with said that he didn't "know how this happened" and said that he did not have an explanation. He told us that our father was doing great the night before when he had gone home. Our father was then moved to another hospital immediately that had a neurology department. The department did a CT scan and an EEG. The Neurologist told us that he did not have any upper level brain function and that he had suffered from severe hypoxia or anoxia. He said that our father was gone and that we should "pull the plug and let him go" Aside from what we should do about our father, because that was already decided - he talked to us about his wishes before any of this ever happened... what I am asking here is: Was there more they could have done? Does this sound right? Did someone screw up and cost my family our father and my father his life? My father has 8 children. To my knowledge: They didn't intubate until after he was stabilized, didn't cool him to a hypothermic temperature during or after, and didn't give him any barbiturates at any point. And as far as the family can find out there is little to no information in his chart about the entire incident. Thanks for your well thought out answers in advance! My father is 57 years old. He has been on oxygen before after his open heart surgery, but never stopped breathing and his heart has never stopped before except during heart surgery when it is stopped by the doctors. My father has never had any hypoxia or problems like this before. The seizures did not start until after he was "brought back". I would imagine they are probably a result of the hypoxia or brain swelling?... He was in the CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) because of the fact that he had open heart surgery a little under a year ago. The doctors were worried that he might have COPD or CHF. He was not having any heart trouble at the time of this incident. (Well, until after the breathing stopped)
Please help me! My goldfish is acting really weird!? My goldfish keeps almost gasping for air and darting around the bowl. I changed the bowls water twice within the last hour and I even tried an impromptu salt bath. I tried feeding the fish and adding slightly cooler water. At first I thought it was Anoxia but I tried EVERYTHING and he still isnt getting better. Please help me I dont want to loose my goldfish. He has calmed down a bit. I have no plants or anything besides base rock because its just a small single fish bowl. I changed the water gradually. I have well water not tap so the lady at the store said I did not need any treatments for the water.
Is this really a method of euthanasia for stray animals? I was looking up animal euthanasia on Wikipedia and I was reading about the methods that are used. One of them was the method they used for stray unadopted animals. The method was putting them in a sealed chamber and pumping the air out like a vacuum. The animal then dies of anoxia. Please tell me this is just another error on Wikipedia. That seems so inhumane. I am a proud dog owner and I only believe in euthanasia if the animal is suffering, and I would much rather know that one of my dogs died a peaceful death by a barbiturate injection than slowly depriving them of oxygen. So do pounds really do this to stray animals? Thanks.
In the near future is it POSSIBLE Oceans Currents will stop and turn Seas into Stagnant SOUP? Honestly, NOT trying to be hyping on Gloom & Doom...but I just saw this on Nat. Geo. that during Proterozoic Period, warmer temperatures widely attributed to high levels of atmospheric greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide causing the 'Breistroffer' event, stopping our ocean currants causing anoxia, stagnation of our oceans, turning it into a virtual poison. Since our temperatures are rising at alarming rates and our sea surface temperatures increase 3–5 °C warmer than it is today(which is what it was when it occurred before), does anyone feel this event will occur again? Are we setting ourselves up? Not if but when? Your constructive ideas/thoughts are appreciated. http://arstechnica.com/journals/science.ars/2008/05/01/increased-deoxygenation-of-the-oceans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anoxic_event
what's wrong with me? can someone help? lately i've havent been very hungry. and when i do get hungry i go to eat and i feel like i lost my appetite. Now...this probably happens to some people everyone once in a while but im a little scared...because im 16....and i weigh 103 lbs. and this has been going on for almost a week. i know that i do not have anoxia or anything...so it's weird. i feel sooo skinny. its the body all teen girls want but i dont want it. what do it do. besides going to a doctor what is other things? im also like....5'7''
Could you explain the vacuum in space and what space suits protect astronauts from? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but when people speak of "vacuum in space" is that referring to the absence of matter in space? (No gas molecules, etc?) I'm SO confused, bc all this time I visualized a vacuum is created in a black hole..? And just thought vacuum meant like a suctioning environment...lol (like what a vacuum cleaner does!) And I'm curious about what a space suit protects astronauts from in outer space. I know there's no oxygen out there so you can die from anoxia, but then there's ideas of people exploding because the sudden change in pressure? I'm not sure how that happens, and I've read other peoples questions and people are saying you wouldn't explode bc skin is elastic but they say stuff about all liquids would boil?..I don't get it, WHY? What is the outer space environment like...is it completely devoid of any gases?..how, why? Planets have gases that escape to outer space... Also, what's the pressure like in outer space? Please explain in super laymen terms..ie talking to a 6th grader. I'm really ignorant on this matter, lol. If pressure is not that great how would fluids boil so quickly...isn't that indicative of a significant difference in pressure? What is the temperature in outer space? Ok, so I understand how temperature is derived from atomic kinetic energy...but if outer space is "nearly a vacuum" that has (nearly) no temperature, and you radiate heat..leading to eventual freezing...are all these conjectures based on that space is infinite? Also, what I don't understand is if you're losing heat and will eventually freeze...how would all liquids in space rapidly boil?
If one has healthcare POA of a person and someone take them from the hospital without your permission? My brother went the hospital and picked my mom up who has dementia and took her to his wife and his rest home. Mom had several small strokes there and it took them a while to find her, she suffered anoxia and had to put on a vent. She will never be the same. She was ambulatory, able to feed herself (now she has a feeding tube) she was verbal, (now non-verbal). She had a good outlook on life. Now she is deterioating very quickly. She is now in long-term skilled care and he hasn't even visited her! He is her payee and thats all he wanted. He hasn't even bought her a gown to wear! He told me if I didn't come get her clothes, he was going to set them on his porch because someone else wanted that room she slept in! What can he be taken to court for? Neglect? abandonment? Please tell me. this is my mother and he doesnt care a nything for her. He just wanted her checks so he went behind my back and got himself labeled as her power of attorney! What can I do about this?
Can anyone tell me what these words mean? These two words: ёbodyí and ёnaturalí I've looked them up, but got nothing. The actual sentence they are used in is as follows: "There is some apparent evidence that the out of body element of the experience is real (e.g. observation of the place in which the ёbodyí is)." and "However, some also think that the experience should be interpreted as a ёnaturalí one (e.g. induced by anoxia) and not as an experience of a reality beyond this one." I AM SO CONFUSED. D8 They were on a printed worksheet from my teacher. I assumed it was some odd bit of religious terminology - we're doing near death experiences.

I'm looking for a Naruto story on ff.net, does anyone know what it's called? The story starts with naruto being attacked by some of the Akatsuki and they use a jutsu or something on Naruto. The jutsu itself almost kills Naruto. But thanks to the Kyuubi naruto lives. Here's a few pharagraphs from the story. “Whatever made that seal knew just how to kill a demon-vessel in one strike. The Yondaime’s seal allows the Kyuubi’s chakra to mix freely with Naruto’s, with the only limit being how much the fox is willing to give up or how much Naruto’s body can handle. This mixing of human and demon chakra isn’t harmful in anyway to him, even without the seal in place. The seal just acts as a one-way floodgate and the two chakras merge naturally in his inner coils.” Tsunade turned back and began perform a delicate healing jutsu. She trailed the glowing energy over the areas that Shizune had stitched up. The boy’s torn flesh began to sluggishly mold back together, though not as much as it should have. “That thing though… I don’t know what it is or does exactly, but I do know what it did to Naruto.” “It mangled his chakra somehow, right?” Jiraiya asked, while crossing his arms in thought. Kakashi continued to watch both the stitching and healing jutsu with undeterred focus. “Much worse than just that,” Tsunade said. “The new seal warped the original seal to cause the demonic charka to react violently with the human chakra. It was like mixing potassium with water.” Shizune looked up from her work with a shocked look on her face. She was the only one with enough real chemistry knowledge to know what that meant. She grimaced and returned to her work. Naruto’s bleeding had slowed enough that the tourniquets could be removed. Looking at the blue-white flesh of his arms and legs, the medic-nin prayed that the Kyuubi would be able to restored function to the boy’s limbs. A shinobi would rather die than lose the use of their arms and legs… “Basically, it caused the chakra to explosively tear out of him. The damage to his muscle groups came from the inside of his body outwards, destroying them almost completely,” Tsunade continued as she traced a line of stitches along Naruto’s collarbone. “Not only did the chakra destroy his muscles, but it also screwed up his inner coils and acted as a scrambler for any incoming chakra. That’s why our healing jutsu had no effect when we first brought him in.” “I wonder why the hell those bastards used it on him…” Jiraiya muttered. Kakashi’s ears perked up. “Who did this?” He asked, though he had a sneaking suspicion he already knew. Jiraiya glanced around and made sure nobody else was in immediate earshot. “Akatsuki,” He mumbled as he leaned in towards the younger man. The copy-nin only narrowed his eyes and nodded. He had yet to break eye contact with the medic-nins’ hands. “From the effects you described, I’m guessing the seal was a mistake on their part,” The Toad Hermit continued in a marginally louder tone towards the Hokage. “All our information said they wanted Kyuubi, and by proxy Naruto, alive for whatever psycho reason they cooked up. Makes no sense for them to kill him in the middle of nowhere. I thought they were a bit more competent than this, trying out an untested seal out on their main goal.” “Hmm…” Kakashi muttered, taking in the news. “Well, whatever mistakes they made, that thing did a number on his chakra. Even now my healing jutsu isn’t having much effect,” Tsunade said. “We’ll have to manually stitch him up before trying any healing. Though it could be because my chakra is so damn low from breaking that seal.” “Hokage-sama,” Kakashi broke in, “Let me take over for you. I still have most of my chakra left. You’ll be able to focus on closing up his critical areas.” Tsunade gave the man a critical look. “You know medical jutsu?” She asked, not having seen such skills anywhere on the elite jounin’s rather lengthy profile. Kakashi winked with his normal eye and tapped the left side of his head, next to his Sharingan eye. Tsunade was torn between whacking the man for stealing her technique and relief that he could keep going in her place. She was getting dangerously low on chakra. “Alright, but you better have damn good chakra control. Just trail behind Shizune as she works. Don’t worry too much if it’s not having much of an effect. Just do your best with it and move on. We’re just trying to keep him alive for now,” The Hokage said. She moved over and let Kakashi kneel next to her. She was only partially surprised when he performed the jutsu near flawlessly and picked up where she left off. Well, at least he’d have that skill if he was ever injured in the field… “Hoping the Kyuubi will pick up and repair the kid where we can’t?” Jiraiya asked, leaning over to watch the assorted ninja work. “Absolutely. As it stands, there’s no way for Naruto to ever resume active duty if the fox can’t undo the destruction done to his system. Hell, he probably won’t ever be able to walk again if the Kyuubi can’t heal him.” “What’s the extent of the damage?” Kakashi asked, as he calmly channeled chakra into the boy’s damaged flesh. “What isn’t damaged is more like it…” Tsunade grumbled, though her anger wasn’t at the boy. “To start with, his inner coils are royally screwed up, even with the Akatsuki seal gone. The demon chakra and human chakra won’t work properly together for quite some time. That’s what’s keeping Kyuubi from healing Naruto right now. The demon can’t control any chakra it sends out, keeping it from repairing anything. I’m surprised it was even able to get his blood production up enough to save the boy. “Speaking of which, I guess the fox decided to go overboard in the areas it could still affect. The Kyuubi made Naruto’s blood production increase over twenty times its natural rate. That’s the factor that saved his life. The cost though, is that it’s stripped his body of almost all its reserves. What’s left of his muscle groups have atrophied. If he ever gets back on his feet, he’s lost months if not years of physical training. Worse than just that is the damage the tourniquets did.” Tsunade gave a look to Jiraiya. “They kept blood in him and that kept his body from completely eating itself, but as it is his arms and legs are virtually dead from anoxia. I think the Kyuubi can repair the damage in time so we’ll hold off amputation, but it may be weeks or even months before he regains use of them. He won’t be happy about that.” “That’s an understatement,” Jiraiya muttered. Oh well, the brat could yell at him as much as he wanted, as long as he was alive to do the yelling. “Internal damage is minimal, thank the Kami. He’s busted a few ribs and cracked a vertebrae, but it’s nothing life threatening. There’s not much else, except for his destroyed muscles. The muscular damage extends from the front and back of his upper torso to his upper arms and most of his legs. Those sectors are almost totally destroyed. It’s not really a matter of healing as much as regenerating new flesh from scratch. Even I can’t do that to another person. If Kyuubi doesn’t rebuild his muscle structure, he’ll never leave a bed again. Hell, he’ll never be able to lift his arms again,” Tsunade grimly finished. “Well maybe the demon’s taken a liking to the kid,” Jiraiya muttered. Three sets of eyes gave him a look that said, “Did you hit your head!” Sweat-dropping, the Toad Hermit tried to cover for himself, “Okay, well Kyuubi probably hates Naruto more than any other human except the Yondaime, but even so, it’d be suicidal to not get the boy back into fighting condition. They won’t leave off just ‘cause the brat’s bedridden.” Tsunade ‘hmm-ed’ in thought. “Well, that’s not here and now. Let’s finish patching him up and get him to a bed. He needs nutrients badly and I want to get an IV in him as soon as possible.”
I'm looking for a Naruto story from ff.net, does anyone know what it's called? Looking at the blue-white flesh of his arms and legs, the medic-nin prayed that the Kyuubi would be able to restored function to the boy’s limbs. help with pollution question!? Seasonal anoxia was a serious problem in the central basin of Lake Erie for many years. How would you account for the fact that seasonal anoxia was never a problem in Lake Washington, although the phosphorus concentration in Lake Washington just prior to diversion of sewage discharges from the lake in the 1960s was about four times higher than the phosphorus concentrations in Lake Erie at the peak of eutrophication?
did you know that you could die from masturbating? Q. What is auto-erotic asphyxiation? A. Auto-erotic asphyxiation is the Induction of cerebral anoxia -- a deficiency of oxygen in the brain -- through self-applied suffocation methods while masturbating. It is estimated that between 500 and 1000 deaths occur annually in the United States from this dangerous type of masturbation. Most commonly performed by young adult males, it almost always remains a secret until they die accidentally. The interference of blood supply to the brain brought on by auto-erotic asphyxiation can intensify sensations. The lack of blood, therefore oxygen to the brain can produce giddiness, exhilaration or a self-induced "high". It's also believed the self-endangerment inherent in the technique enhances the person's sexual gratification. This technique often involves using a rope, belt or another device to cause the asphyxiation. Of course, this same self-endangerment that may provide a thrill to the person carrying out auto-erotic asphyxiation also weakens one's self-control and judgment possibly resulting in accidental death.
