How are cardiac ischemia and shortness of breath related? I have had significant shortness of breath and am being treated with inhalers, nebulizer and meds. EKG and chemical stress test results said "provocable ischemia of interior (anterior?) wall ". Haven't gotten results of echocardiogram yet. I had it done 3 weeks ago, shouldn't I have heard something from my PCP by now whether it be good or bad? I am scheduled to see a cardiologist next week. Am I to assume that cardiologist will read echo before I am to see him and that is the way I will get the results?
What kind of treatment available for cerebral ischemia, and what is the success rate of the treatment? Recently I visited eye doctor as my son is having a squinted eye. After so many tests doctor found out that the back portion of the eye is swollen and he has to undergo MRI. After I search on the internet I found that the swelling could be caused by cerebral ischemia. I am very much worried now as my son is 3 yrs old only now. I would like to know if any treatment available for this, if available what it is and how successful it is. Many thanks for your replies.

Please tell me about recovery from Acute mesenteric artery ischemia? My friend had this and it caused some intestine to die, so she had about a foot of it removed. She was only temporarily closed until today, and is still being kept unconscious. Her body is now weeping all over. The dr. says she is doing as well as can be expected. What is a realistic prognosis? She is 72 years old.
I have ischemia (heart) and wonder about heat and massage.? I have ischemia of the heart (left side I think). I also have a neck vertebrae that injured and hurts periodically. When it's bad I use a heating pad and aspirin which has always helped. I have always preferred a hot bath as well. But, I've had ischemia for 8 years, no treatment until 4 months ago, and I'm just realizing that maybe its not a minor thing. I wonder now about massage, which I love but don't have often. I was thinking about getting a 2nd opinion on the ischemia because my dr. makes me feel like the ischemia is very minor, and yet I have to take this medicine. My blood pressure was high too and I have an injured knee and neck and torn shoulder so those things are kind of like inflammations - not good for a heart I hear. Thanks for any input. I am so impressed with this site: the answers and the opportunities for people to learn much more about their important and not so urgent but concerning issues. Thank you all so much.

I don't understand ischemia or if it is serious or a minor problem. Is it the same as brachcardia or tracycar Is ischemia seriious? Is it the same as bracycardia or tachycardia? Should i be worried about it or is it OK like an allergy bothers you, but isn't serious? Are there better meds for it than Lipitor? Is there minor ischemia and worse ischemia. I haven't had an echocardiogram. I can't get a handle on this through my dr. I cannot stop the stress or PTSD that I have. I know that the stress is very bad for me, but I can't seem to stop it.. Any info. anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated. I would love a medical referral for the ischemia or PTSD in San Francisco or Berkeley/El Cerrito area. Thank you all. Jay Jay

Does Ischemia show up everytime you experience Angina? I feel I suffered an Angina attack about a week ago. However I had some testing but there was no signs of heart disease or ishemia. I had been drinking the new Diet Pepsi Max for about four days and I feel it made me have a coranary spasm which caused my Angina. Is this a good assumption? Please give me some insight. Thanks

How long does it take for narrowing of the caridac arteries to occur? Two years ago this October I had a stress test with echocardigram and it came back cmpletely clean, no build up anywhere. I went to the family Dr yesterday because I use a CPAP machine and thought it was causing the annoying little tigtness I feel in my chest. My Dr did and EKG and compared it to the one he'd done 2 years ago and showed me how now, after the big blip there's this really small down blip before it smooths out and he said that could be an indication of ischemia or not enough oxygen getting to my heart. It puzzles me that I could have any narrowing that fast. I thought it took years for build-up to occur. The only change in my diet I've made is I've been eating more protein and eggs to lose weight. I've also been exercising more, but stopped for the summer. Can anyone help?
EKG T wave changes and Myocardial Ischemia? My previous ekg results: borderline ekg, anterior T wave changes non especific unconfirmed analysis, and my doctor said everything was fine and didn't send me to a cardiologist. Now, 6 month later i have a new ekg as a preoperative test and result are: borderline abnormal, T wave changes possible due to Myocardial Ischemia. Unconfirmed Analysis. I am very nervous because i was ready to have a plastic surgery in 10 days, and i got this on my ekg. I have levels of anxiety when i got tested. I have no symptoms, just some palpitations when i am close to get my period and doctors told me that could be due to PMS... i would like to know if i have to concern, because i have to wait 3 days to get results from the anestesist. Do i really have to fear a Myocardial Ischemia? I am very confuse, because doctors office assistant told me that readings from the machine is not the answer, but yes the doctor interpretation. I appreciated if somebody have the right answer to me. I excercise 2-3 t a week,

Questions about side effects of Lipitor, toprol re heart and stopping meds? I have ischemia and irregular heartbeat which I don't really understand, erratic high blood pressure, an injured knee which is always kind of swollen (inflammed?), carpal tunnel and an ongoing neck injury from legal computer work (which I no longer do). I felt so exhausted, very weak, very depressed, mentally confused and slow. Needless to say, the incapable, weak, incompetent affects have never beeen a part of my life before. THEREFORE, I decided to stop all meds about 3 weeks ago. I really feel so much better and stronger. A nurse told me, no matter what, don't take Lipitor; as you get older your muscles will all be wasted and you don't want that. I DON'T want that. Now I am wondering what to do about the ischemia and clogged arteries . I'm leary of my heart dr. who told me I could take Adderall with ischemia and an inflammation bec. it speeds up my erratic heart??? Inflammation is not supposed to be good for ischemia. Can anyone help me understand where to do from here?

can microvascular ischemia in the brain related to long term marijuana use be triggered by pain medication? my husband had dementia MRI showed microvascular ischemia which with further investigation was linked to marijuana use. when he stopped the dementia stopped.now he had his teeth pulled and has been on pain meds and the dementia has returned. dementia happens when he is NOT under the influence of drugs. Also he had a head ache that doctors attribute to a "mini stroke" just prior to the dementia's return. I realize ischemia is causing the symptoms but could pain medicine be triggering the ischemia? I too am a nurse.
Ischemia - silent heart attack!? My mom-in-law passed away 24 Nov 2006 because she had an irregular heart beat - died of silent heart attack. The doctor told my hubby he must get tests done to see if he's inherited the irregular heart beat. Anyone know how big the chances are that he might have the same thing?
