is Depression/Insomnia/PTSD considered a debilitating medical condition for Arizona (2011)? [Prop 203]? Hello, My question is Depression/Insomnia/PTSD considered a debilitating medical condition for Arizona (2011)? [Prop 203] I am currently suffering through all three of these illnesses, and the wording for " 14. A debilitating medical condition or treatment approved by the Department under A.R.S. § 36-2801.01 and R9-17-106" (http://www.azdhs.gov/prop203/documents/Medical_Marijuana_Final_Rules.pdf) really has me confused. Is there anyone that can answer this question with actual proof? Google'ing has lead me no where other than 'Stoner' websites. Additional Details PTSD is "Post-traumatic stress disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you've seen or experienced a traumatic event that involved the threat of injury or death." What might be causing this medical condition? For about a week now my father has been experiencing moderate to severe dizziness, and insomnia. He's having issues tilting his head back etc. Any suggestions on what might be going on here. This was completely out of no where, and we cant seem to find a trigger. He is going to the doctor this week, but we are just curious. He's not prone to ear issues, etc. so we are puzzled as to the onset of these symptoms. He also just had Radiofrequency Ablation on his back about 2 months ago, can that cause complications?
What underlying medical conditions cause insomnia? I have struggled with insomnia for nearly 20 years. I do triathlons so I definitely get enough exercise and I eat healthily. I am constantly exhausted and my eyes are closing at around 10pm, so I head on up to bed. After that, it can be up to 4 hours before I finally fall asleep and no matter what time I do doze over, I'm usually awake no later than 5 a.m. I'm constantly exhausted but can't seem to get any sleep - I've tried every OTC sleeping pill around and within a week of beginning use I'm immune to them. I've started using melatonin but I'm already beginning to get used to that. Can anybody advise me please - my doctor isn't very sympathetic. Thank you
Is Erythema Multiforme a qualifying condition for Medical Marijuana? It is a very painful, reoccurring virus that can be debilitating at times. I also suffer from Major Depression (kinda a side note). Just give me a legitimate answer please. My depression also causes a suppressed appetite, insomnia, and migraines. Could I be eligible for Medical Marijuana?
Night-time Insomnia: Is it a condition and what can I do about it? Is there such a medical condition as night-time-insomnia? For the last month or so I have been unable to sleep for any longer than two hours at night, so I would end up sleeping through the day. I thought this was probably just my sleep schedule until I started working days, thinking I would wear myself out and force myself to sleep at night, but so far I've only once gotten myself to sleep longer than two hours... Even if I only got two hours the night before, I can only get two hours the next night, and then I can lay restlessly in bed for another few hours until I have to get up. I remain tired all day, and then at night I get my energy back and can't sleep more than two hours again until morning. 1. Is the some kind of condition? 2. Am I the only one (here at least)? 3. Can I fix it? 4. How?
I have insomnia! Please help!? As the topic suggested, I have been suffering insomnia for few months already. It occurs every one or 2 times a week, where I can stay up more than 24 hours because of insomnia. Whenever I try to sleep, my heart will beat very fast, causing me to panic, and unable to sleep. The feeling really sucks. I ought to be honest. I have been suffering from depression since 14 years old, and I'm 18 now. It comes periodically. The funny thing is I have never seek for any medical help, including this insomnia medical condition. I goes to bed ranges from 2a.m to 6a.m everyday, as I always play computer till very late. It has been like this for months already. I was afraid of go to bed too early (10p.m or so) and so I keep playing computer to make myself as tired as possible, but in the end I still can't get to sleep. Every time I try to sleep, I get stimulated suddenly, and gets panic attacks. Can someone please help me? Thanks all for taking time to reply me, and care for me. I didn't knew that I would be getting quite a large response, which tell me " YOU ARE NOT ALONE " . All are best answers. Anyway, I don't consume caffeine related drink. I admit I play counter-strike almost every late nights. It makes me nervous throughout this thrilling game. I was wondering does it contributes to my anxiety disorder? I have been playing for 6 years already. I would like to share something that actually happened today. I went to look for my ex girlfriend this morning, and cried. She broke up with me not long ago. When we were together, I was almost late for every meetings, as I had poor time management. In the end, she broke up with me. I regretted, and wanted a patch, but she said its too late. She likes other guys now. Cherish someone before you lose him/her.
What medical conditions go with these symptoms? I recently got back some blood work that said that my testosterone was high and my insulin was low. I have also gained quite a bit of weight (about thirty lbs in about a six months) and I get tired a lot, which is odd considering I have insomnia. Does anybody know of any medical conditions that go with these symptoms?
i have been experiencing chronic insomnia for 7 months now? i have taken every dr prescribed sleeping pill from my psychiatrist and to no avail. is it possible i could have another medical condition causing insomnia. i am also on 225 mg of effexor xr but i was having problems sleeping before i was even taking that which makes me believe it couldnt be the effexor causing the sleep disturbance. can anyone help?
Is there a term for insomnia brought about as a result of curiosity? I rarely get a good night of sleep. This is usually because I ask myself new questions while I am half awake and feel the need to research them. Is this a personality flaw, or a medical condition? If the later, what is it called? I like this trait, so I am not looking to medicate it. I am just curious if there is a term I can use to explain this condition.
Is this a medical condition? I prefer to be awake during the night. I'm very hyper active during the dark but during the day I'm sleepy. I thought I had insomnia but I went a whole night and day without sleeping so I could fall asleep during 9 pm but I woke up during 3 pm and I was still sleepy. Is there such thing as nocturnal humans?
Is there a term for an inability to clear one's mind resulting in insomnia? I rarely get a good night of sleep. Usually about four hours per night, five if I am lucky. This is usually because seemingly random questions pop into my head while I am half awake and feel the need to research them. Is this a personality flaw, or a medical condition? If the later, what is it called? I am not looking to medicate this problem. I am just curious if there is a term I can research and understand it by.
Can you get medical marijuana for insomnia? I've had insomnia since I was a kid. I was deployed with the marines as in infantryman in operation iraqi freedom. This made my insomnia worse. About a year after returning from Iraq I gave up and started smoking heavily to fall asleep, and otherwise. When I was young I saw a doctor complaining that I could function becaus I was loosing so much sleep so often. Would this condition qualify me for medical marijuana. BTW, I live in Michigan. I assume that the laws can't be much different than California or Colorado. 1 hour ago - 4 days

physical and mental medical condition, any help? hi, i am a teenager and i have had depression for a couple months now, it fluctuates on seriousness but thats not what i am asking about right now, just something to consider while "diagnosing" me. In the last two weeks or so i have had some weird sleep problems, insomnia, waking up at night and during the day i am extremely tired, so i have my coffee and it almost gets me to normal energy level for a couple hours. but i crash HARD, and end up almost sleeping in my second two classes, recently during this period of lack of energy (all the time without caffeine, i limit myself to 1-2 coffees a day though) i feel almost like i am not controlling my body, i am watching my body on autopilot, and i feel confused and "zone out" even while walking to a class, for example i was in the middle of getting some textbooks out of my locker and completely zoned out for like 3 minuets perfectly still, staring into nothingness and don't remember what happened during that short time. this happens a lot during class too. sometimes i forget where i am for like 3 seconds, and then realize where i am. my memory also seems to be decreased, especially short term.sometimes i will forget what i was thinking about right after i'm done thinking it. for example, i just forgot what i was going to write... Sometimes i will have strange hallucinations like moving patterns and changing of size of objects, like i will stare at a chair and it will seem to get smaller or bigger, not always just sometimes. i have also had perphial vision hallucinations that go away when i go to look at them. and in the dark i have really really weird hallucinations occasionally, like a random arm, and morphing of darkness. i will have equilibrium problems sometimes. and sometimes a little paranoia, common anxiety, coomon aggravation. sometimes i have violent thoughts, and random outbursts of rage. also when i sit or lay down i feel glued to the seat, or numb. my eyes are wattery and i am easily distracted, also have headaches in the back of my head at around the same time every day and some (uncomon) twitches. really uncommon itching or random burning or aching. also have trouble thinking and a little trouble breathing. i yawn a lot and usually it is like 5-10 yawns in a row. it feels as if my brain has turned off because i don't have weird disturbing thoughts before sleeping, i have like no thoughts. i am also really jumpy and my speech is slurred a lot. i also have a bit of social problems and i just don't want to talk to anyone but when i do my words are way more "not thought about" and just what i am thinking, my muscles are really tense a lot too. if i think of anything i may have forgot i will post it in an edit thanks
What is the cause of insomnia? Assume that you are healthy and have no medical conditions that hinders sleep and that your environment is quiet with nothing to disturb you and that you are comfortable. With all those factors eliminated, what is the cause of insomnia? With the factors of noise, breathing trouble, etc. eliminated, what is the cause of insomnia?
Does this odd combination of symptoms suggest a medical condition my doctors may have missed up to this point? I'm a 48-year-old female. Had a partial hysterectomy two years ago (still have the ovaries). For about three weeks now, I've been experiencing EXTREME fatigue. I can't do the simplest of household chores or walk half a block without feeling totally wiped out. I've had chronic insomnia for years. But now I sleep deeply all night, and also many hours during the day with no problem. In fact, I've begun to have episodes like narcolepsy and sleep paralysis (I feel awake and aware, but can't move my limbs or speak for a minute or so). I have had the worst swelling of my ankles and calves, which I've never had in my life except for when I had pre-eclampsia with a pregnancy. I've put on a LOT of weight in a very short period of time. Lastly, I have weird sensations in my breasts and back. There's breast tenderness that feels like the premenstrual type, only it's lasted for eeks. And I get this terrible, off-and-on feeling like the skin on my back is sunburned or inflamed. Any ideas? I should add that I had a CT scan done just two days ago, because I have also been experiencing slurred speech at times, and have been very clumsy and falling a lot. The scan was normal. I'm being scheduled for a sleep study within the next couple of weeks.

Should a parent of a 17 year old with insomnia try to force her to sleep? For the past year I've struggled with horrible insomnia because of a medical condition that caused drenching night sweats and this horrific, tormenting itch all over my body under my skin (so it could never be scratched away), and was finally diagnosed over the summer with the medical condition that was causing it all. I would love to just fall into bed and sleep like a normal person, but that's not what happens. When I'm lying down the sweating seems to be worse, and it's very hard for me to fall asleep even when I'm exhausted. I used to just stay up all night working on my homework or art so at least my mind could stay distracted and I wouldn't just be lying still feeling horrible and going mental, but my dad has freaking tried to give me a bedtime even though I'm 17 years old, have already graduated from high school (I'm home this year dealing with the medical thing), and *cannot* sleep! He's talked to my doctor about it, and he knows I'm not just some little kid wanting to stay up all night. Still, though, he's locked the room I use for my art so I can't go in there after 11 and wants me to turn off the internet, TV, phone and all that, and stop reading and working on things by midnight and just.....do nothing. He wants me to stay in my room, and "clear my mind." Which is torture, because it's my body that is annoying me. This isn't a case of mind over matter! I can't just make my body do what I want it to and fall asleep! So now I am about to get booted off the internet even though I won't be able to sleep anyway, and just being here in my room is going to drive me insane. I get the importance of sleep for my health, but it's not something that I can just make happen. I'm so freaking frustrated by my parents. Am I really being the unreasonable one here or are they? I mean, seriously. I don't know what else to do at this point. Advice?
Medical marijuana, insomnia, and Michigan? I have chronic insomnia as a result of a neurological condition. I've been taking Melatonin at my doctor's recommendation, but it only works some of the time. I've only slept a few hours this week, I need to do something, but with my history of addictive behavior, I don't want to go on sleeping pills Does anyone know if I could get marijuana in Michigan for insomnia? If not, I also have low blood pressure, a history of depression, ADHD, and periodic chest pain from the same neurological condition.
Sleeping Disorder - Does Anybody Have The Medical Name For Insomnia That Occurs Only On Sundays? Please, no suggested solutions or reasons, we just need to get an idea of what "it is" so that a professional could give some sound medical advice. A family member has had a problem of going to sleep on Sunday nights only for over three years. These are some of the changes in her body she notices on Sunday's starting at about 1pm 1. A slight buzz feeling in the head (slight dizziness) - like high on Sunday afternoon 2. She gets really sleepy to the point of passing out Sunday around 2pm, but does not sleep 3. She's wide awake from the feeling of sleepiness around 7pm and stays away all night till approximately the next evening (Monday) when sleepiness is back to normal as if the night before was normal. 4. She might get really really really sleepy Sunday night around 11pm, but sleep does not come. She has heard every reason, and tried just about every suggestion known from professional, friends, co-workers, etc, which is why suggestions of resolving is not the question. If there is a Medical name for this Sunday night only sleeping disorder, it could be the beginning of finding a solution. Thank you in advance. Going to work on Mondays is not the reason. She doesn't drink on Sundays Doesn't take naps on Sundays Lab work has been done to see if there are medical disorders No Depression, possible anxiety due to this condition by now. Nothing occurred on Sunday that's locked in her mind that we have determined. The list goes on. This is a lot to ask, but the multiple doctors consulted just could not give a reason. All of her other nights are normal sleep nightswithout fell. She is very active on weekends and her sleep schedule is close to the same as other nights.
What is the disease/ condition of somebody who suffers from insomnia, depression, tremors, and dizziness? My friend his 66 years old and has insomnia. He has been depressed over the past year and has changed a lot in the past three months. My friend finds it difficult to move, particularly in the morning. He also experiances tremors, dizziness, and disturbances in vision. He was a successfull businessman who traveled a lot before he became unhealthy. He loved sports, and is a frequent hockey player. He had experianced multiple sports-related injuries like a broken leg, fractured rib, and multiple concussions. What disease/condition does my friend have, cause i'm worried about his health, for he does not want medical attention for it.

what type of medical conditions are common for those that get medical marijuana? i want to get my medical marijuana card but dont really have any medical problems except for high stress and insomnia. i smoke as often as possible but i am responsible with it too. i only smoke at home and never before work or around family. i have been arrested for possession once before and would like to avoid going to jail again because i will NEVER stop smoking(i might put it on pause for a while though) so if i went to see a doctor about getting my medical card, what type of condition should i complain about without actually having a serious disease like cancer or aids? and where can i find a doctor that will prescribe? i live in california and have no kids but am very stressed. no job and little money means i am losing my hair at a rapid pace

Michigan medical marijuana conditions? I'm trying to get a card and i keep seeing for cancer, chrones, etc, or any other Debilitating condition a doctor sees fit. I suffer from insomnia, depression, asthma. Do you think any of these qualify me?
Would psychophysiological insomnia, at first glance, present as (any) specific physical condition(s)? I am specifically interested in psychophysiological insomnia: essentially, somatized tension and learned/reinforced sleep-preventing associations that, of course, result in insomnia. Note: I'm not referring to primary sleep disorders, substance abuse related insomnia, nor those cormorbid with psychiatric, neurological, or medical disorders like, chronic pain or even fibromyalgia. I am wondering if this specific form of insomnia (i.e., psychophysiological insomnia) can mimick the symptom profile of other physical maladies. I would think its presentation would be different than other forms of insomnia, given different etiologies, but, I don't know... Thanx, psyengine. Not really what I meant. Said in another way, I am wondering what the physical effects are of psychophysiological insomnia (aside from fatigue--kind of an obvious one), but, specifically, whether these could mimic any particular physical condition. For example, I imagine extreme, chronic psychophysiological insomnia, depending on the individual, presenting not only as "fatigue", but, as say, a primary eating disorder, gastritis, or migraine, perhaps. See, I know that many "sleep disorders" are cormorbid or indicative of, for instance, long-standing physical illnesses, in the case of some primary sleep dysfunctions or psychiatric issues. However, I wonder, given psychophysiological insomnia is a said conditioned response or a reflection of "hyperarousal" (which can remain even when the initial stressor that, perhaps, precipitated the sleep issue, is long gon) whether the lack of sleep, in this case, could, resemble a physical illness, instead of a "sleep disorder", per se. So, instead of the sleep issue being etiologically related to a psychiatric or a physical illness, whether the reverse could be true, and if so, what does the physical sxs profile look like? Thanx, Fr. Al. I know, I know, my q was worded very poorly. It was very late when I posed this Q and I really should have just gone to bed instead of playing on Y!A. My brain was complete mush. Ha-ha-ha. Anyhow, I certainly didn't want to imply that "mental diagnoses" were all in one's head. Trust me when I say, that is NOT something I would say. In fact, where I live, there IS no stigma regarding these illness. There just isn't. Anyway, all I wanted to know with this inquiry was whether an insomnia problem could be mistaken as a physical illness. I rattled on about psychophysiological insomnia because I thought it would be a better instance (that the others) of when this might be possible. I imagined a patient complaining of primarily headaches and never being asked the Q: "how do you sleep?" In reality, the insomnia is causing the headaches, so they are treated, instead of the insomnia. I wondered what kinds of physical problems lack of sleep could produce/mimick. Grannyjill: Good idea :-). Thanx :-). Fr. Al: "physical problems" as in those that can not be related to an underlying primary DSM-IV-TR label. Can severe chronic insomnia cause gastritis, migraines, eating disorders etc?...
Is there a reason I dont need much sleep? It's not like I don't sleep but I only need 8 hours or so every 48 hours. Is there a reason for this, some kind of medical condition? I never feel tired and most of the time I only sleep because I think I should. I've researched it and it's not insomnia simply because it's not that I can't sleep it's just the fact I don't feel I need it and it's never affected me in a negative way. Any insight would be most interesting.
Can you provide me medical advice? Somebody with credentials or sources please.? Symptoms: - When I breathe in or move I get a crackling in my neck (Difficult to determine the location) - Neck is constantly stiff, and at times is capable of radiating to the bottom portion of my face - My shoulders can constantly pop out of place and in. Makes my neck stiffer - Neck gets stiffer(Becoming very debilitating) and will hurt intensively, especially attempting to work out. - The area behind your ear, down to the bottom of the neck are extremely tight. At times, touching the side my neck hurts it. It radiates above and below those points. - Sleeping makes it difficult to breathe, and sometimes I get a burning sensation in my nasal area. - The tightening even right now is around my trachea. - More I stretch my neck, the tighter. - I stretched my neck one day like the physical therapist said, it popped and I got a weird radiating feeling on the right portion of my face. It went away eventually. Secondary problems resulting from this: - Lower back problem - Muscle Atrophy(I either don't physically exert and get this, or do so and end up in the ER) - Chest Pain - Insomnia - Dry Skin - Fatigue - Depression(Though, I am still fairly level headed. Go through periods of optimism till uncertainty of getting better kicks in. Rinse, Wash, Repeat) Possible Cause: I doubt it has anything to do with a randomly emergent medical condition that is genetic. Doesn't seem to fit. Personally, I would like to attribute it to a Chiropractic incident. Figured no harm would be done if I was being used as an example at Parker College. Sign a form, and get popped once. Although, I wasn't aware this was a student. He basically popped the area in my cervical spine. And guess where my problems are starting at? Neck. Background information: I'm 19 years old and currently unable to work or even go to college. Use to exercise regularly, and had a 4.0 before this. Also worked, and was full time at college. The problems started April of last year. Initially going to Medical City Dallas ER, they kept me there over night doing a CT scan and a MRI, keeping me in a neck brace. From there, after two days, I was released and told to get a referral to a Neurologist. At around June last year I was finally able to get into him. He ordered for the medical records from Medical City Dallas, and ordered some others for me. He told me there seemed to be a problem with my lower back, but that was a red-herring most likely and at most caused by the problem I was having(As well as the loss of weight, etc.. Mainly from the deterring condition). He said he was not sure what he could do. I was thus referred to a Rheumatologist. Also during this time, I had to get various blood tests done at Baylor, my Primary Clinic, and Parkland. Almost every day or so, over 30 blood tests were done overall by them(More resulting from Parkland deleting my records "on accident" twice). Finally after all that and getting in, I was told they could do nothing(It wasn't rheumatoid nor thyroid-based) and to start back at nothing. During this time, I was over 18 and I had to get new insurance(I have my Parkland insurance now, it was Children's First). That caused a period of time of me being able to do nothing. So, about 3 months ago I got into an Orthopedic who basically told me I had a lower back problem(Remember what the neurologist said earlier?) and that was the problem. I was sent to go do Physical Therapy, and it only happened once a week. The second time the program ended, mainly from the Hospital's allocation of money resources into more surgeries as the physical therapist told me. So, I did as I was told and it only got worse. Now? Been waiting to see a doctor again, wondering if it will ever get mended too. During this period, went to the ER over 7 times at Parkland. Not to mention over a thousand dollars in medical bills due. Yes, I am fairly poor. Off note: Had a doctor at the ER literally tell me: "Pain is imagined". My jaw dropped. My thoughts now: Part of me wants to act on a whim of anger. Although, I seemly can't. I'm the type of person who will cry, get angry, and such in my own time, and put smile on my face at the ER and answer: "Doing good" when they ask how I am. Can't really do otherwise, my dislike in burdening another causes me to act this way. Problem? If this goes on any longer, I may literally have enough proof to deduce my life is better off dead than burdening others with this. I am willing to go with this choose, if I find it logical. At this moment, luckily there are a few things keeping me from doing so. Thing that sucks? I am not mentally insane, and do not need medicine. Yet, I'd be given some when clearly the problem lies in Axis 4 of the DSM Manual. If you read to this point, can you provide me with information what I might have, or what should do? Much ap Whoops, it cut off. Much appreciated is what it says. Sorry to say, but it can't be a magnesium deficiency, unless the problem lied with using my being able to use it - Even then why show up so suddenly? My health diet was mainly Mediterranean, with tons of vegetables: Broccoli, Spinach, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Peppers, etc. Also never ate junk food, and didn't indulge in soda. Thus, I figure that acquiring magnesium was not a problem. Although! I appreciate your comment, and all the links you gave. I will be looking at them, and next time I see a doctor I may end up mentioning the possibility to him in terms of if it is possible to have a problem in actually using it. I might wait though, when a doctor around here seems to have a hunch, they lose all possible lateral thinking and simply focus on their initial premise being correct.
How do I get a medical marijuana club card (california)? I just turned 18 and am interested in getting a club card (I live near San Francisco). Recreational benefits aside, I actually do suffer from insomnia and while this will be largely for fun, I do have a medical condition worthy of a card. So several questions: 1. How and where can I get a card? 2. Are they expensive? 3. How does club stuff compare to regular (cost, quantity, quality)? 4. Can I cancel it later on (like once I leave college) and do I need to be a Cali resident? 5. Most important, what are the negatives? Can employers look at it and negatively judge it? What ramifications can it hold? Thanks

Can you help a little 12 year old girl with (in my book, severe) insomnia? Ha-ha sorry for calling myself little and acting all innocent. But I have a HUG sleeping disorder. . .it started in October 2008. Let me describe who I am since it's a medical condition and it might help. . .I'm a 12 year old girl and I live in the USA. I have an average American diet and I'm probably 85-90 pounds the last time I weighed myself. Heart problems and allergies run in my genes. Now, I think I have insomnia. My problem is that I couldn't sleep until after 12 midnight. Then, around Christmas break or Midwinter break then 12 became a 1. Just a couple days ago, 1 AM turned into 2 AM. Last night, I couldn't sleep until 4:30 AM! Oh yeah, by the way, I always wake up automatically at almost exactly 6 AM but I am too tired so I fall back into sleep, but very deep sleep. From 3 AM to 6 AM I have really strange dreams. Really strange, random and funny dreams. This is pretty much my routine every night, and I don't think it's healthy. At ALL. Today I fell asleep at 4:30 AM and woke up at 9 AM for church. So that's only like 4 hours of sleep. My disorder always made me late for school last year. So some of you might want to pretend to be cool and ask "yo where question yo micheal j is hot" Well, here's my questionS: Can I cure this on my own? My mom says that I only can't sleep because I don't want to. I DO, SO BAD! So the doctor is out. Is this actually insomnia? Can you give me more information about insomnia and other sleeping disorders? I looked it up in Wikipedia, but they like being show-offs there with fancy words (sometimes with broken links. OH SO *HELPFUL* WIKIPEDIA! It would REALLY help if they actually explained it so 7th graders with Post-High School people can, idk, UNDERSTAND them!) PLEASE HELP. THX<3 bye your dog's ex-wife(inside joke)
Help!! Unknown medical issue? For the past couple of weeks, I have been having some kind of medical condition. I have nausea constantly, diahrea evertime I eat, dizziness, ringing in the ears off and on, chills, headaches, lightheadedness, and insomnia. The other day I went to the hospital and they gave me an iv, took some blood, and prescribed me reglan. They said all the bloodwork came back fine, and that they really didnt know what the problem was. This has been controlling my life, and I am not sure what to do about it besides treat the symptoms. It has gone on for almost three weeks now, and I cant even walk too fast without getting more lightheaded and getting a headache. I am so weak. Has anyone else had this problem and know what it is? If so, please help!! And sometimes my heart speeds up to. Yep, there is absolutely no way I am pregnant. And I dont currently have medical insurance unfortunaletly...
What is the name of my disorder? I have alot of problems with sleeping. I thought it was at first insomnia but I don't have problems falling asleep. I'll come home from school and immeadiately take a nap for almost 3 hours. I'm always tired and I tend to fall asleep in my classes durning the day. On weekends I'll sleep +12 hours and I'm still tired. Is this a medical condition? And if so, how serious? Is there any information someone can give me on this?
Help! How do I cure my insomnia? I am perfectly healthy with no medical conditions. There are no stress or anxiety in my life. What is keeping me from falling asleep? Whenever I do fall sleep, the sleep quality is very poor. How do I fall asleep without any pills?
Medical Conditions can stop Piloting? Now, when I was 12 years of age, I was diagnosed with a Seizure Disorder. I began having random seizures throughout my life, and the doctors had a hard time figuring out why I had these particular seizures. It wasn't epilepsy or anything similar. The seizures were random and it did not matter where I was, what I eat, or what I was doing. On top of that, the doctors did a full x-ray and found that I have a severe heart condition where my heart, arteries, and veins are wired backwards and awkwardly throughout my body. Its amazing that I can breathe, run, and live day to day. I am now 17. I have been put on Keppra XR, a Medication to stop my seizures, and it has done well. I have not had a seizure in a long time, almost an entire year now. The only side effect of the Keppra is insomnia. I am looking forward to a career as a Helicopter/Airplane Pilot but am afraid that I will be rejected due to my seizures. Can I still become a pilot or am I screwed? Please not that I have not had a seizure since starting the Medication. Any answers will be appreciated.
Can I obtain a medical marijuana card for either insomnia, muscle tightness at night, or ankle pains? I'm curious about going about getting a medical card, what are the steps, and how difficult is it to obtain? I live in Michigan and I have trouble sleeping at night, and I think it could have something to do with tightness and jerks in my legs while I lay in bed. But when I smoke weed before bed, I sleep like a baby, and wake up feeling great, no problems. Is it possible that I would be cleared for a MM card based off of these conditions? Also- I broke my ankle and tore ligaments in it 3 years back, if i get pains in the same ankle, would this qualify me as well? I do not have any proof of any conditions listed above, does this matter? And is their any tips to convince a doctor that MM is right for me? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!
Colorado: Growing, Selling, Possessing Marijuana Legally? Ok so be serious! Please this isn't about morals, so don't make it about it. Please keep your personal comments to yourself. If you must condone me on smoking, then please put in bold and capital letters "I HAVE NEVER SMOKED SO I DON"T KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!". Ok so here we go: I am moving to Colorado around August/September. I want to get my medical card. (Yes i have a medical condition. Terrible Insomnia where i sleep between 0-2 hours a night. I also have terrible anxiety.) I have done research, but just making sure. Is it legal to get your card there? Can I get a card to grow plants? If so, how? Any and every piece of information helps a lot! thanks mates!

Late night tremors, insomnia? I'm not sure what to call this, but for the last few weeks when I get ready to go to bed, I end up spending 2 hours trying to get to sleep. What happens is that about a dozen times a night I'll start to fall asleep and hit that moment where you are just about out and I'll jerk myself back awake. I was indeed unconscious for maybe a a few seconds to a minute, but when I regain consciousness, it feels like my pulse is beating around 180 bpm. I check my pulse on my carotid artery and it is normal. So it appears that the rapid pulsing throughout my body is possibly muscular? I need to get up and calm myself down with large slow breaths to make it stop. Repeat this process 10-12 times and then I eventually pass out after 2 hours. I'm 26, male. 240 lbs with no major medical condition. No medications. I'm curious as to what this is because the lack of sleep is starting to affect my work and school. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? And when I say that "I jerk" it's definitely involuntary. Thanks for the response. I generally feel pretty tired most of the day. I've never been told I snore and I'm quite sure I've never nodded off randomly...cept maybe after a big meal =P . I generally end up falling asleep around 2 am and am awoken by the dogs at around 6:30 and then off to work. I may visit a doc, but I just wanted to see if anyone had experienced anything like it. It's just rather weird how my body pulses as if it were my heartbeat, but when I physically check my pulse, it's normal. I just find it odd. Thank you Nicky. I'm very sorry to hear about your mother. I had a hunch it was stress, but I was just curious if their was a known condition or anything. You've assuaged my fears. I will get my thyroid checked out as there is a history of thyroid problems in my family. I thank you both for your responses.
Help! I'm worried about my lack of sleep? I have been awake for the last 35 hours. Haven't done any drugs or alcohol, no insomnia conditions, no medical problems. I'm getting shaky, jittery, nauseous, having a little trouble breathing, haven't yawned, I don't feel tired. I'm used to getting 10 hours of sleep per night. I've never had this happen. I've tried relaxation techniques, and other things to help with sleep. Is this dangerous, or at what point does it become dangerous? Any clue as to what's causing this? Anything's helpful. Thanks.
Do you think I qualify for disability payments? Here's some history: I have a whole host of existing medical conditions. I have: Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Depression, IBS, Acne Vulgaris, Seborrheic Keratoses, Restless Leg Syndrome, Insomnia, Neurologic Pain Syndrome, Social Anxiety Disorder, Substance Abuse Disorder, Body Image Disturbance Disorder. These are CONFIRMED diagnoses. Can I get payments for this? My illnesses have left me without hope.
Why has weed become a problem in the late century? People have been smoking weed for thousands of years. It has been used to treat numerous medical conditions including asthma, nausea, headaches and insomnia. It has been used for food, clothing, building material and many other things. It's been used in religious ceremonies and recreational gatherings. Why has it become such an issue within the last hundred years. If there was any issues with it wouldn't they have been discovered over the thousands of years it was used peacefully? Why do people still say it is dangerous when it has never been the sole cause of one death?
Needing help with sleep troubles? I have severe insomnia, but the doctor hasn't really helped. I can't get to sleep til around midnight or 1 am, then when I finally fall asleep, I wake up again around 3-4am and toss and turn for about an hour or two. When I awake I am drenched in sweat. I have to eat withing 3 hours or less before going to bed for another medical condition. I have tried soft music, showers, laying with the lights off, melatonin. Nothing helps.
I have trouble sleeping (details below)? I have serious trouble sleeping. I am not stressed or looking forward to anything but I constantly find it hard to sleep. Even when I am really tired (not being able to keep my eyes open) it still takes me about two hours to get to sleep. Do I have a medical condition of some sort? Like insomnia?
Is FMLA available if even if you didn't know condition qualified? Occurrences were medically related, not knowing it was FMLA eligible but did tell employer at "exit interview". I'd accumulated 10 occurrences in a rolling 12 month period due to treatment for ADD/ADHD & depression prescriptions(insomnia/hypersomnolence) and lost my job. I told HR during my exit interview the situation, pleading for a "2nd chance". I then sent them documentation & support from my physician and in an later job interview, when I submitted a letter from my doctor to explain my termination from this previous employer, the HR Manager said that it did qualify for FMLA (which I'd been unaware of previously). My former HR before the job I was terminated from also concurred that even mentioning medical difficulties warranted FMLA being offered at the point of termination and retroactively. Can any legal professional or someone that has been through a similar experience offer me further input?? Thank you so much!

Medical marijuana question!? I suffer from insomnia and am looking to get a medical marijuana card (I live in CA) to help me. The only problem is, I have no records of my condition, as I don't want to take pills...my question is, will this be a problem in getting my card?
Asking my Psychatrist for a medical marijuana license for PTSD? I am 24, married and a mother of one beautiful daughter. But, my past and childhood weren't as happy. Therefore, I suffer from PTSD. I am visiting a new Psychiatrist, as I have not been to one since my early teens. My condition has "caught up" with me and recently progressed. I live in New Mexico where medical marijuana is legal for my condition. I am extremely nervous about bringing this treatment up to my Dr. I have never been on anti-depressants but, I am pretty much unwilling to take the risks that they cause. I already have nausea, anxiety, depression, severe with drawl, rage, insomnia, RAPID weight loss and re-gain, not to mention that when I am severely affected by my symptoms.. the outsides of my hands and pinky fingers go numb. These "ANTI-depressants" could cause these symptoms to worsen. Seems like a pretty silly thing to do when you're trying to improve these things. I have smoked marijuana to contain my severe depression and physical pain... it works. Extremely well in fact. My concern like I mentioned before, is asking my new Dr. for a recommendation for a MM license. Any suggestions?
What is the fastest way to fall asleep? Ok. My friend has this condition to where he can't sleep. He told me he hasn't slept in 2 days. And I'm kinda starting to get worried. I believe chronic insomnia is what it's called. But really. Is there like anyone out there with a medical background that can help. Please.. Thank you.
Doctors Who Will Prescribe Medical Marijuana in ONTARIO, CANADA? I just got form B-2 for a medical marijuana license. I have had severe depression, anxiety and insomnia since I was 9 (due to traumatic events) and my condition will never go away. My family doctor is aware of my marijuana use and is COMPLETELY against using marijuana in any from. Is there any way for me to get a different doctor to fill out the forms with me? I'm willing to travel within province to do so, but I can't seem to find any doctors who are "pro-pot" :( HELP!! Ok, so maybe I haven't been very clear. I have been bounced from anti-depressant to anti-depressants for thirteen years now (my family doctor is a pill-pusher who only recommends his patients to OTHER pill-pushers). My marijuana use is limited to situations where I have to go out of my house (like classes, grocery shopping, work) because of my anxiety; and before bedtime to ease me into sleep & to reduce my dream recollection.
Staying up for 30+ hours with no problems? Im guessing im not normal because im able to stay up for about 1.5 days without being tired of feeling sleepy.Meaning i wake up around 12 cuz its summer stay up 24 hours till 12 pm next day then stay up till about 8-10 then finaly being able to sleep. If i try to sleep normal i just end up laying in bed for hours not thinking anything but not being able to pass out.So does anyone know any medical condition this could be(besides Gamers insomnia) or am i just "special"been like this since the beginning of summer Ya im really poor and i dont want to spend the 10$ i get once a month for something that probably wont work.Have too strong mind and will for pills the have any real effect on me and ya under 18....lol what doctor
How can I avoid insomnia? I moved into an apartment(5th floor) from a house and recently retired before time at 45.But my sleep habits changed and lead to accute insomnia. To be jobless is a part of the problem and the main problem is I was in better condition(air, sun light,heat..)when I was in house but now the air is dull, heat moves upward (from the lower stories)in winter and rooms seem uncomfortable(I can't get the new environment). It seems very hard or impossible to change my place now but I want to find a permanant solution for my sleep(medical case not be the 1st please) 10 points rewards for good answer besides my pray for the one who can help me.
Please read! Why is Mike Wallace authoritatively declaring depression is a "medical disease" on CBS primetime? I saw a short infomercial on CBS in which former newsman Mike Wallace tells the public depression is a "medical disease." What? Only in the rarest cases (e.g., thyroxine deficiency) has it been established a biological origin causes symptoms of depression. Getting treated for clinical depression is important, but if depressive episodes were caused by a biological pathogen (or the popular misnomer "chemical imbalance") meta-analyses done on talk therapy vs drugs would show the effectiveness of talk therapy is zero (not the case). If depression was simply a "medical disease" then combining the two treatment modes would not be more effective than one or the other. The DSM-IV lists this condition as a psychological disorder--a matter of abnormal behavior not a "medical disease." Moreover, despite FDA approval of anti-depressants for demonstrating more efficacy than placebo, there are still indicaters that anti-depressants may work with some people only because of the placebo effect. In truth, the real medical disease can be caused by drug treatments used for depression. The "chemical imbalance" actually occurs when people take anti-depressants (e.g., serotonin remains in the synapse of neuron connections rather than re-uptaking). Drug treatments can lead to Parkinsonisim, cognitive dysfunction, weight gain, agitation, insomnia, and even suicidality (all considered mere side effects according to the literature). Taking several anti-depressants at the same time puts a person at risk for a potentially lethal toxicity lightly labeled "serotonin syndrome." Mike Wallace even says, "It worked for me," but it's bad science to generalize from one case. I guess my question is more: Do you think he's a paid spokesperson for the pharmaceutical industry? If you want some references: http://psycnet.apa.org/?fa=main.doiLanding&doi=10.1037/1522-3736.1.1.12a http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200504/s1338168.htm Very good article: http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:LqzUHKw87HEJ:psychrights.org/Articles/LacasseonDTCAinEHPP.pdf+%22talk+therapy%22+%22just+as+effective%22+drug&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=7&gl=us Just Google It!: Actually, "medical disease" is not so broad a descriptor because it implies the illness is internal and a matter for the internal medicine field, i.e., requires a medicinal cure (drug) from a medical doctor. Ms Cat: No offense, but you're obviously biased. Do YOU have any graduate school training? Moreover, there is not one shred of evidence in scientific literature that individuals who develop clinical depression have a serotonin "deficiency." That is exactly the kind of misinformation the pharmaceutical company has spread. I challenge you to go to the link below and read some real honest information about the issue. Read this link please: http://209.85.173.132/search?q=cache:LqzUHKw87HEJ:psychrights.org/Articles/LacasseonDTCAinEHPP.pdf+%22talk+therapy%22+%22just+as+effective%22+drug&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=7&gl=us Ms Cat: YOU are among those who believe you can get out of depression by just taking a pill. There's going to be negative consequences for that, and THAT's what the public is never told, unless you actually listen to all the contraindictions said at the end of those pharamceutical commercials. Ms Cat: You said "some of the side effects are a nuisance but the really bad ones only happen to 1 in a thousand people or less and they go away if you stop taking the drug." Problem 1: Talk to me about the "nuisance" of developing Parkinsonism after you've been on a maintenance dosage for anti-depressants after maybe 20 years (BTW no long term studies required by the FDA to approve these drugs showing no neurological damage occurs with longterm use). Problem 2: When you stop taking anti-depressants the side effects do not simply go away. People typically get WITHDRAWAL from anti-depressants in severity based on how long they took the drugs. That withdrawal is often misinterpreted as a relapse of symptoms of depression. Solution? Put the person back on the drug indefinately. That's called "negative consequences" for trying to treat depression like it's purely the "medical disease" that Mike Wallace is telling the public.
Can I get MMJ (medical marijuana) for depression and anxiety in California? Hello all. I'm an 18 year old living in California and I've been struggling with depression and anxiety for several years. I've been on a couple anti-depressants and in my opinion, marijuana helps more (in low doses). I also suffer from pretty frequent nausea and insomnia, which most anti-depressants make worse, but marijuana helps. I currently have two doctors that are eligible to prescribe meds, but both of them are very anti-pot (obviously brainwashed to think it's in the same category as crack and other harder drugs). Can anybody tell me if I can get a medical marijuana card for these conditions? If so, how to I go about finding a doctor that is sensitive to MMJ?

Help? Please, sleeping problem? I tend to have a bit of a sleeping problem. Its not insomnia. Its like the opposite of that, I can basically sleep at anytime of the day, sleep for how ever long, and still be tired/sleepy. Is this a medical condition? I have enough Iron and nutrients. But I always seem tired.
Will they prescribe me anxiety medication if I'm 14? I've had anxiety for a long time and i never knew it was a medical condition so i never said anything about it, now it's become more of a problem, i hate going anywhere where there's crowds, it's like i can't think straight, my heart beats really fast, i get very hot, sometimes twitch, i literally want to disappear. I've told my parents but they think it's just hormones and it'll go away, so I'm scared that's what the doctor will say, that and to drink less caffeine or get more sleep or something, it's gotten to the point where i can't sleep because I'm worried about the next day going through all the things that can happen during it. If you can think of a condition that includes anxiety, depression, this feeling that I'm not real, and insomnia thanks. (although my insomnia is caused by my anxiety most of the time) also what will the medicine do assuming they give any?
Should I be concerned about treating my widely fluctuating blood pressure? I have a lot of health issues already, including PTSD, chronic fatigue syndrome, and terrible insomnia that's lasted more than twelve years. My blood pressure is SO variable. I know that everyone's goes up and down, and an average is what's important, but mine is never in the middle. I'm either at about 140 / 100 or about 115 / 65 every time I take my BP, and it doesn't matter what time of day or night. I try to always take it in the same seated position, and give myself a few minutes before I take it. I get concerned about it being high, but two different doctors I mentioned this to were reluctant to put me on medication for it, because it might cause my BP at times to go so low that I'd faint or something. Hoping there are some medical professionals reading this who'd offer opinions about what this could mean for me long-term. I should also mention that I'm a 48-y-o, black female, and about 50 lbs. overweight right now. My meds, my other medical condition, and my age I know all contribute to a slow metabolism and cause me difficulty exercising. I'm on disability.
Falling asleep during normal activity? My dad has been falling asleep randomly throughout the day. For instance, sometimes we'll be at the drive-thru somewhere and we won't even be waiting for five minutes when he drifts off to sleep. And this happens often. It's easy to wake him up, of course, but it's worrying us. Also, last night, he was sitting at the computer checking his email and he just leaned his head over and drifted off. We are wondering if this is linked to any medical condition or if it's possibly just because he hasn't been getting enough sleep. I researched narcolepsy, but there is no insomnia; he falls asleep as much during the night as the day. Any suggestions on what it may be would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
I have a ridiculous problem with a guy? *Sorry this is so long but it is interesting so please read* So it all started a couple years ago when we had a class together. He is a hottie and really popular but I didn't have a crush on him or anything. He is really good at acting, in a band, wears cool clothes (aka cares about how he looks), and is very funny. But so we had Creative Writing together and he always hung out and joked around with the upper classmen. Now, about me. I have a lot of friends, I'm a pretty cool girl but I don't really hang out in the same crowd as he does. That year was hard for me. I felt incredibly un-cool. Not b/c I didn't have friends but b/c I felt like crap. I have a medical condition usually I am fine. I can be my normal energetic self but that year my meds made me have severe insomnia so I was late to school a lot. I had dark circles under my eyes and I also felt so tired that I couldn't think as well and I didn't put much effort into my work so a lot of my creative writing stories and stuff were not that great. :-/ So... here is the interesting part. I was SHOCKED when in the middle of the year he started to try to get my attention. Not by talking to me but my staring into my eyes a lot. At first I wasn't sure if he was looking at me really so I kept looking behind me to see who he was looking at. Then I realized it was ME. I started to smile at him and care about what I wore to class. I remember this one time I said a joke to a fried and he was a few seats away and laughed. Both of us were too scared to talk to each other and now he is dating this girl who is amazingly gorg and is now in college while he is in high school. Why did he have to like me?? Now after a frickn' year of not even having it cross my mind I can't stop thinking about him. I was walking on the street with a friend and I passed him with some friends and our eyes met for like I don't know how long. AHHHH!!! Help me.
serious new medical symptoms....medical proff. or similar sufferers please help!!? Help! I am 37, always been reasonably healthy except for a bad migraine condition In the past 2 weeks I have suddenly begin to have the following symptoms: Irregular heart beat, palpitations, some mild chest pain, extreme dizziness, loss of appetite, vomiting, insomnia, intense pain on the lower side of my back (almost in the hip/buttocks area, right side only) This has continued almost continuos for about 2 weeks. However the last 48 hours I am having even worse symptoms..................the veins in my hands, wrists and feets seem to have shrunken to invisible, I have intermittent numbness and tingling in the hands, feet, face and scalp. I thought maybe i was dehydrated and drank a huge amount of Gatorade last night which seemed to help for a bit. But now I feel about the same..not the numness, but chest pain and have added a hacking cough! I know go to the doctor is the best answer. But I am hoping someone can give me an idea of what this might BE so I can be prepared. HELP!!
Exhaustion will kill if people keep on giving such busy people a astigmatisms? I have the kind of problems that everyone fails to acknowledge as being problems. With all the things that they want me to do and consider, it makes it so that I am overloaded with things to do. It has resulted in me becoming hyper-active, extremely tired and lacking sleep all the time. I cannot stop wanting to walk about and do things and end up becoming fidgety when I do nothing for a short time. I have to be doing something, probably because of my awareness of not getting enough done. But eventually I crash and cannot move anymore, which is when people say "Maybe your tired because your not active enough". Exhaustion has led to me getting oral body temperature down to 34.5*C (94.4*F) when I rest, a feeling of lethargy very often and a feeling of impatience all the time due my awareness that I need to cram more into a day to get things done. Spiritually Speaking: Have any of you tried the "Recession diet"? Its from the makers of "Stock-Market-B-Gone"? The recession diet works simple, and it works too! 1. Get your wages cut at work. 2. As you spend more money to make rent, you spend less money on food. 3. As you spend less money on food, you eat less. 4. As you eat less, you lose weight*! 5. ???? 6. Profit! God, dont you love how the economy is going to improve our health overall? Besides the massive amount of stress, depression, nausea, and insomnia that comes as a result of getting your wages cut and/or losing your job. * WARNING: Studies have proven that the opposite may in fact happen, since it is also shown that people who eat less spend more in fast food. The long term effects of this diet are not known, and it can cause serious medical conditions. Please consult with your accountant before you consult this diet. (read this part as fast as those drug commercials show the last warning.) In all seriousness though, I have lost 20 pounds the last 4 weeks thanks to this BS economy. Karl: And Most of my Q&A's are from R&S, got a problem with it or did you fail to see the "Spiritually Speaking" tag in front of it? I wonder if this will get on Y!Amsters top question thingy merbobber.
I can't move anymore, how to get more energy? What could cause someone to begin having problems with equilibrium - clumsiness, falls accidental burns, cuts? A 47-year-old female in generally good health. Problems have been ongoing for six months, but sometimes worse than others. The most serious problems include sudden loss of balance and falling around the house, difficulty judging the height of things like steps up and steps down, knocking things over, spilling and dropping things often. The worse problem is numerous kitchen mishaps, such as accidental burns while cooking and using knives or scissors. On occasion, there is also other cognitive stuff, like being unable to recall or spell simple words, transposing letters and numbers. Whereas multi-tasking was once very easy, now even doing one thing at a time requires significant focus and time. The one possible medical issue may be chronic insomnia of LONG standing (over thirteen years), due to a year-long period where 24/7 vigilance over a terminally ill child with serious feeding and breathing problems and seizures was necessary. The child passed away over ten years ago, but since that time, deep, restorative sleep has been severely lacking. Dozens of OTC and prescription sleep medications, including ones typically used for other conditions, have been successful in treating the sleep problem. Correction: Meant to say the drugs have NOT been successful in treating the sleep problem
SleepMD/Melatonin and Asthma/Allergies, Safe? I have moderate insomnia, I've been on Ambien and decided to try something natural instead. I picked up SleepMD because it contained many herbs plus melatonin all in one package and I had heard these were all things that could help. Researching online I learn that melatonin could have serious side effects for people that suffer from allergies and asthma. I have chronic asthma and severe allergies all year long. Has anyone with these conditions used SleepMD/Melatonin without suffering serious consequences? I had read it could cause inflammation of the airways, which is what has me wary. The only reason I'm even considering using this supplement is because I'm so desperately lacking sleep and rest. I'm not doing well financially and am lacking medical insurance so consulting a doctor or using prescriptions isn't really an option -thus another reason why I had to stop Ambien. It also wasn't effective after a while. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated, thanks. Sorry if this is in the wrong section ^^; I just used the primary section Yahoo suggested.
Could this be Hypoglycemia? hello , i have visited the doctor multiple times for my condition. I am being diagnosed with anxiety after all the tests i have had done; which include; Echo cardiogram, EKG, full body CT scan, thyroid, liver, kidney and pancreas function test, urinalysis.Gastrointerologist visits, Tested for celiac disease. stool sample was given also. Everything is pretty much normal, except i have Wolff parkinson white syndrome, and mild Mitral Valve prolapse. This problem has been ongoing for about 8 months, the very first day i started having symptoms i felt a bit dizzy, nausea, had loose stool with mucus appearance, mild chest pain, felt a bit depressed, insomnia, short of breathe. After that first day i no longer felt nausea but the other symptoms still occur. along with these other problems i have. Heart Palpitations upon waking up a few hours after falling asleep Tremors upon waking up Shortness of breathe after eating large meals or sugary foods Extreme insomnia Cloudy urine quite often and sometimes with mucus Loose stools, often undigested looking Stomach Noise all the time (every day) I believe i may have Tinnitus (ringing and clicking sounds in my ear) My tongue is white, which my dentist says its "Geographic Tongue" I often feel like i have a strong pulse in the middle to lower of my back, and the back of my head I have a fungus under my right toenail that will not clear up with medical cream after 9 months Some days i urinate like 15-20 times Used to feel Depersonalized until my Psychiatrist put me on Zoloft I dont feel depressed like i used to , i used to feel sad, but now im just not happy very often. I just got out of the army, in June this year, which i had just spent a year in Iraq and got back in March. When i first got back i felt a little weird.... i didn't feel quite right, I started having my physical symptoms and stuff when i got home to my family in April. I havent felt right since then. Im currently going to the VA clinic. And they probably see me as a Hypochondriac because i make so many appointments, and they just keep telling me i have anxiety. My mother has Hypoglycemia so i decided to research it and it seems to really fit the bill for my symptoms but im not sure. But my doc says that my blood sugar is fine, its been within 88-92 fasting for 12 hours at least. I pretty much feel bad all the time, i tried celexa for a month and i didn't sleep the whole time, now im on Zoloft for 2 weeks now and taking sertraline(sleeping pill) cause it does the same. Im a 23 year old male and i have been exercising often and trying to eat healthy which doesn't seem to help my mood very much . Any help/advice would be appreciated. sorry i mean the Sleeping pill i take is QUetiapine not sertraline
Whats wrong with me this has ruined my life? I have depression, adhd, and anxiety I have been dealing with it all of my life at the age of six I was labeled and introduced to paxil and seroquil for sleep my mom not knowing what to do didn’t fill the prescription for seroquil and substituted it with benadryl and sleepy time tea that worked for a while but I quickly built a tolerance. I started paxil at age six because I was a depressed child with anxiety and sever agitation. The paxil took effect helped my depression but severely increased my anxiety and made me irritable. I was on and off medication the benefits were not worth the side effects. We decided to take me off medication until I was older if it was necessary. I had on and off insomnia all my life we would treat it with benadryl but honestly that did not put a dent in it. When I was younger I had social anxiety issues I would not go near people I did not know. The only people I would trust was my family and my best friend Kassie my next door neighbor. Kids from my class would always try to talk to me outside of school at the grocery store or after the bell rang I would avoid them at all cost. I honestly believe I wouldn’t take the chance to befriend them because I was taught at school all strangers are bad stranger danger. I had an anxiety disorder so little things like that would rule my life. As time went by I realized that I needed to communicate with people and make friends. I became more assertive and happier. Every grade I was closer to being a normal kid whatever that is. By the seventh grade I had many friends. Everything was going good. But my perfect grades started to slip. I went from all A’s to all C’s and eventually I was failing. I had not changed any study habits I just couldn’t make heads or tails of the work. I told my mom I was spacing out I would be doing the work and my mind would wander away and I would just stare out into space. I would be on the same problem as everyone else go into lola land look up at the overhead and all of a sudden there five problems ahead. I went to my doctor for a check up my mom mentioned what was happening to the doctor. We got a referral to see a neurologist and found out I was having absence seizures. I was put on topamax and lost nearly 20 pounds I got a little underweight. We scheduled an EEG without the medication to see if I had any seizure activity I didn’t thank god I was able to discontinue the top Amax. The neurologist gave me a test and said I had many symptoms of GAD and ADHD. She started me on focal in 20mg and lexapro 10mg. I was doing ten times better in school and was happier than ever but me and anti depressants don’t go together well I developed tics a discontinued the lexapro they instantly were gone. My anxiety freaked out I don’t know what happened I blamed the focal in and started to skip them and give them to my friends. I was going crazy the closest thing that describes the way I felt and still feel is the symptoms of severe akathisia it can cause extreme anxiety and uneasiness to the point that suicide may result. Akathisia can occur for no apparent reason or may be induced by certain drugs. If you’ve ever paced a hospital floor waiting for bad or good news about a sick or ailing loved one, or have been so nervous about something you couldn’t sleep, you’d have a good sense of what akathisia feels like. Some people develop the condition when given SSRIs. In this state, people are more likely to kill themselves or to try than they are when they are in a depressed state. They feel they must do something to make the restlessness stop, because there isn’t a single second of rest from it. This is exactly what I feel like they told me I don’t have it but I can’t imagine something else that would cause the exact same symptoms. I had these feelings and the doctor was no help I took matters in my own hands and started drugs. I took six of my dad’s 10mg valium hoping for just a few minutes of relief. I got just that and a trip to the hospital. I can’t honestly say that it wasn’t worth the relief. I still feel like this I don’t know how to fix it or if it can be fixed it has made my life living hell. Id rather die than keep on feeling like this I would be dead if I didn’t have family to worry about. The only couple of things that help are currently illegal or unavailable. I honestly have tried almost every anxiety medicine the only legal thing that puts a dent in this feeling is valium. Xanax and colonzapam actually make it worse. The only thing I have ever come into contact with that completely rids this horrible feeling is marijuana but medical marijuana is currently illegal in Texas. Honestly smoking it anyway is worth the risk of getting into trouble but I care for my mom to much to drag her down with me. I don’t see one thing wrong with medical marijuana if someone needs this healing herb for Why not let them if people can use heroin like opiates for pain why not let people who need it use non addictive marijuana. Unli I would like to know whats wrong with me and if i have akathsia or a akathsia mimicing disorder is there anything that can help rid me of the symptoms
4. How?
Painful purple/numb on bottom of toes (not top of toe or arch)? For the last several months I've been developing a callous underneath my big toes. After a while, these areas became numb, which I attributed to (1) calloused skin, and (2) a previous condition causing numb big toes (slipped nerve, bad arch, solved by shoe inserts). Lately these areas have gone from numb to extremely painful - and have turned purple/black bruise-like and appeared on both my 4th toes, too (odd). I don't think this is caused by shoes since I wear different ones daily with orthodics and all have wide toe boxes. The only change in recent activities has been hiking outdoors in the snow, so my first thought was frostbite. Since these issues showed up in warmer weather, though, I'm guessing this doesn't have much to do with the cold (although it makes the painful areas burn more intensely). One thing google DID bring up was the possibility of lupus: I've been fighting a low fever on and off, under a lot of stress, constantly tired and disoriented, insomnia, cold sores, psoraisis-like lesions on my neck (dermatologist is still trying to diagnose). I'm assuming symptoms of lupus would show up before the age of 28? I don't want to be a hypochondriac and my insurance deductible is too high to be get medical attention for anything not immediately life threatening. Any ideas on what this could be?
What illness might I have and what should I do? I'm a 19 year old male and have currently contracted some sort of illness. Symptoms: Stomach: Nausea, no vomitting, incapable of judging if I'm hungry or not Head: Fever; feel of a narrowed air way in throat (specifically at the base of my neck), but no soreness; head feeling 'tight', but no headache Misc: Insomnia, this illness is preventing me from obtaining a good night's sleep. I also cannot tell how warm or cold it is in the room. I also should add that it is quite humid here and decently hot as well, not helping my condition. The lack of sleep is causing me to be extremely out of it and perhaps there is more to it than that. Prior to illness: My sleep schedule has been spontaneous and inconsistent and I believe that to be a possible link as it could have weakened my immune system. Do you have any possible ideas as to what illness I am currently suffering from? Should I seek medical attention and if not at what point should I?
Want to learn something about recreational drugs? Recreational Drugs Some people take recreational drugs; it seems like a fact of life. Their use has been around since the dawn of man. They were historically taken in a religious setting but now are used for enjoyment, medication, and inspiration. Obviously not using drugs is the healthiest option but I doubt humanity will ever fully discontinue using recreational drugs. Since their use is so common and widespread I thought I might write out some facts about the most popular ones so if you do decide to use any of them you know the effects, risks, etc and can make a more informed decision. Caffeine- Caffeine is a stimulant that effects the cardiovascular and nervous system. It is legal and easy to obtain. It causes increased heart rate, blood flow, metabolic rate, and respiratory rate. It increases alertness, elevates mood, and decreases fatigue. With frequent use the user runs the risk of becoming chemically dependent to caffeine. Withdrawals from caffeine can cause difficulty concentrating, nausea, anxiety, and insomnia. It is possible in extreme amounts to overdose on caffeine and permanently damage the cardiovascular system and possibly result in death. Tobacco (Nicotine)- Nicotine is a stimulant that effects the cardiovascular and nervous system. It is legal and easy to obtain. Using nicotine causes increased alertness followed by a sense of relaxation; it also reduces appetite. With frequent use the user runs the risk of becoming chemically dependent on nicotine. Nicotine withdrawals can range from insomnia, weight gain, constipation, anxiety, restlessness, and difficulty concentrating. In extreme dosages nicotine use can result in overdose (usually with patches). Using tobacco products has been shown to cause various kinds of cancer depending on the method of use. Mouth, lung, throat, bladder, larynx, kidney, stomach, etc. Alcohol (Ethanol)-Ethanol is the depressant found in alcohol, it effects the nervous system and thins the blood. It is legal and easy to obtain. Using ethanol causes euphoria, reduction of inhibitions, and gradual decrease of motor skills depending on dosage and tolerance. Frequent ethanol use can result in chemical dependence and in higher dosage overdose. Ethanol withdrawals can be very severe and range from depression, nausea, headaches, shakes, and cold sweat. If you are chemically dependent on ethanol you should consult a doctor, as Detox can be fatal if not done properly. Ethanol has also been shown to cause various cancers such as, mouth, throat, liver, larynx, etc. It also has been shown to cause serosis and damage various organs in your body (esp. liver) Strong Psychedelic Drugs (LSD, Psyliocybin, Peyote, Salvia Dinorum)- They are hallucinogenic drugs that effect your nervous system and chemicals in the brain. Using these drugs cause changes in mood, distortion of reality, dissociation, synathesisa, and hallucinations with all senses. You cannot become chemically dependent to any of these drugs but you can become psychologically dependent to them. This means that you feel a psychological need to use the drug but you will not suffer any chemical withdrawals if you discontinue use. These drugs effect how you think and perceive the world in a very powerful way. The quality of your experience depends on your mood before use, the location you take them in, and the people you are around. Based on these conditions you may have a positive, life changing experience or a negative, horrifying experience. Because of this risk it is recommended you have an experienced sitter who is there to watch over you and console you. The sitter is also there to make sure you don’t do anything dangerous or stupid while you are hallucinating. If you have previous mental issues these drugs may make them worse. They effect how you think and may cause you to bring up old issues and cause mental distress or even a mental breakdown. Hard illegal Drugs (Meth, Cocaine)- These drugs are considered hard because like alcohol they have a high rate of chemical dependency and severe withdrawal symptoms. They are also highly illegal. When used they cause euphoria, altered mood, increased alertness, insomnia. They have a high risk of chemical dependence and their withdrawal can be fatal. They are similar to other stimulant withdrawals but more severe. If you have a chemical dependency to these drugs then you should consult a doctor since the withdrawal can result in death. Smart drugs, Pharms (Rx drugs)- Prescription drugs are relatively easy to get and are legally distributed by the medical companies. Their use causes a wide range of symptoms including, altered mood, relaxation, increased alertness, sedation, reduced inhibition, among others. Rx drugs use in higher frequency can result in chemical dependence and in higher dosage can result in overdose. Rx withdrawals can be very severe and you should consult a doctor when discontinuing their use because the withdrawals can be fatal. T Cannabis is weed.. Psilocybin is the active ingredient in shrooms... obviously you need to learn a few things yahoo answers cut out the cannabis section(not enough room) sorry! Cannabis (THC)-THC is a mild psychoactive drug that effects the nervous system found in the buds of the cannabis plant. It is illegal but fairly easy to obtain. Its effects are highly varied depending on (location, mood, etc see strong psychoactive drugs) however the most common are, increased sensory experience, altered sense of time, increased appetite, change in thought process, euphoria, relaxation. The over load of sensory experience can cause short-term memory loss for the duration of the high. You cannot become chemically dependent on THC but you can become psychologically addicted (psychological need to use, no withdrawals when use stops). There has never been an overdose of THC and many believe that although it is theoretically possible in use it is impossible to use that much THC. If you use THC by smoking the buds of the plant the smoke from the burnt plant matter can irritate the lungs. Other methods of THC use such as inhaling THC vapor or digesting activated THC
Do you have any ideas for me? First, please don't answer if you are not a Doctor or other health provider. Holistic is fine also. My father’s was relapsing remitting M.S. and his I believe his brother’s was secondary progressive. I had a brain MRI done 12 months and no lesions were found. I have avoided the LP due to having one 20 years ago and it being an experience that I do not wish to repeat. The Dr. butchered it so badly I ended up in the hospital. I could care less who reads this. I want to get better. I want to be productive again.
Recently I found a legal way to import/smoke pot for medicinal purposes, but will it hold up in court? I thought it was only legal to treat medical conditions for people with doctor's prescriptions in states like California, but found otherwise when I tried to import pot from overseas and was instructed by both foreign and domestic Customs Drug Control Units on what steps to take to make marijuana importation and the right to possess and smoke it legal in any U.S. state. As a side question, would it still be legal if found in my car in a police search, and also I assume being charged with driving stoned could still result in getting charged with a DWI? Ok, so I was/am importing marijuana from the African country of Cameroon from a dealer I found on the web, to whom I was to pay only a partial amount of the total money I owed him for the product/shipping costs before receipt, and pay the remaining balance after I received the product, but this was when he told me he thought shipping would only cost $75. As it turned out, shipping was to cost $250 to me in Florida, U.S.A. for what was originally supposed to be 400 grams of pot for a relatively tiny amount of cash I was to pay the dealer- easily making up for the shipping costs- but the drug dealer told me he found he could send me up to 1250 grams in terms of weight for that same shipping cost, with a similarly small price for a larger amount of product, so we increased the deal to the larger amount of 1000 grams (1Kg), and I had to send him ALL of the money for it all before receiving it, though he threw in an extra 100 grams free for making the mistake about the shipping costs, making it 1000 grams of High-Grade Weed for an unbelievably low price- but I then found I additionally had to pay the shipping company $200.00 in "refundable" insurance, refunded to me in cash upon receipt of the package (although as I will later explain, I never received this first package and lost all the money I paid for its insurance and shipping). In any case, after paying this money for the shipping/insurance and all the money for the product itself, all paid via Moneygram to the dealer and the shipping company- as well as to others as this story progresses- I was informed I initiated this transaction before I had fulfilled all the legal requirements to do so, which I was unaware of, but regardless, my attempt at importing the pot from Cameroon in Africa to me in Florida in the U.S. was stopped by the Cameroon Drug Control Unit and I got an email from them AND from the delivery company (this entire experience took place over email communication between me and all parties involved), saying the package was confiscated by Cameroon Drug Control when found to contain marijuana and then saying that in order for these drugs to be legally shipped to me I had 4 days to produce a license available from the Republic of Cameroon for $2500.00, and providing me with their email to communicate with them on how to purchase it (ultimately through another Moneygram payment), warning that if I did not get the license within 4 days, they would report me to U.S. Authorities, and additionally they strongly recommended that I get second license from the High Court of the Hague for $1500.00, saying doing so would make my drug packages "unstoppable", as the Hague is the administrator of law over the whole of Europe, so I paid for this license as well. I am an Independent Filmmaker, and after a long while managed to save up thousands of dollars to make my first Independent Feature Film (and was still in the process of raising money for the film so I hadn't spent any of the money yet), so I was lucky to have this money at my disposal to pay for these licenses. So after the licenses were procured, the package was shipped, and when it arrived in the U.S. by way of New York, it was transported through Customs without a problem, but then when it was transported to California (where owning/consuming marijuana is legal with a doctor's prescription in the state, which even has public legal marijuana clinics where patients with a doctor's prescription can acquire medical-grade [high potency] marijuana) I ran into a problem, though I don't know why the package went to New York in the NorthEast part of the country and then to California on the West coast before finally being shipped to Florida in the SouthEast, which actually ultimately still has not happened, as I then got an email from Californian Custom Control saying they were going to hold the marijuana there to pursue legal proceedings against me if I didn't fulfill further legal requirements, namely: I needed a prescription note from a doctor saying I needed to consume pot for medicinal purposes, which my drug dealer in Cameroon was able to get from a doctor there after meeting with him and providing proof of all the ailments I needed medicinal marijuana for: Bi-Polar Disorder, Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder, acute anxiety, and insomnia. The email from Californian Custom Control also required that I get signed permission from the U.S. A The email from Californian Custom Control also required that I get signed permission from the U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon for my Cameroon License giving me permission for the export of the marijuana (of the variety Cannabis Sativa) from Cameroon to me in Florida, U.S.A. This signature from him as he told me via email would cost me another $2000.00, but at this point I was out of money. My drug dealer in Cameroon was arrested because we began our transactions before we had fulfilled all the legal requirements and was held in a jail with very poor medical conditions for the two months it took me to raise the last $2000.00 for the Ambassador, which gave me permission to export pot legally from Cameroon with no more fees for the next 10 years, and another month it took me to raise $1000.00 in bail money for my dealer to get out, plus another $250 I just paid for him to get medical attention upon his release, because his $250,000.00 in bank accounts were frozen upon his arrest..., preventing him from accessing them. While in jail, I was able to communicate with him through emails to the head of the Drug Control Unit in Cameroon, who would visit him in jail and pass messages between us. It was during this time that as I raised the $2000.00 for the U.S. Ambassador and $1000.00 to bail my dealer out of jail, that we made a deal that he would pay me back all the money I spent on licenses and permissions and money I paid him, well over $12,000.00, along with an unreasonably high interest rate he himself suggested, knowing he could pay it once his accounts were unfrozen, and I made the suggestion it be for every dime I paid through the entire process, with interest monthly on it since we started all this October 2008, and even eventually got him to pay me nearly 25% more of this entire amount, which he shockingly agreed to- and is more than enough to finance my first film if he keeps his word and sends me this money via international bank wire. Hell, even if he... doesn't, the head of the Cameroon Drug Control Unit said he'd set me up with another dealer, but from all our interactions I believe this dealer will come through with this money to make my film, and be my pot dealer, LEGALLY, for the next decade without a single new fee pay to make it legal. Now, to unfreeze his accounts, he needs one last payment of $1000.00 so he can do a different drug deal to raise the $5000.00 they are charging him to unfreeze his accounts, and send me the 1100 grams of pot again completely for free, as while I was raising money for the couple of months he was in jail and the Californian Custom Control had possession of my pot, they stored it poorly and it came into contact with moisture, making it toxic and forcing them to destroy it. Now it will take me till late May to come up with this last $1000.00 needed, and hopefully bring this adventure to a fairy-tale ending conclusion. I'm just hoping the pot can give me the inspiration to write the one of my many.. scripts-in-progress I want to use for my first full-length film like it did when I was at New York University Film School (I've Produced one full-length feature film we sold to the Cable/Satellite Premium Channel "Showtime", where it played countless times, but all my other work as either a Producer of a film someone else wrote and/or Directed or as the Producer/Writer/Director of my own films has been doing short films so far, under 40 minutes, so I'm looking forward to sitting in the Writer/Director's chair as well as probably Producing for my first feature film, which is about students at the High School I went to in Satellite Beach, FL called Satellite High School, near an Air Force Base with plenty of planes and their own "Satellites", which is what the film will be called. It's about an outsider who sort of "accidentally" become friends with the school's star basketball player and his girlfriend, and as a solo DJ and a musician of dance and other types of music in a duo with... an older musical prodigy long-since graduated from high school, he personally or sometimes the two of them got invited to DJ or perform at school parties for many different groups of people around the school- whose stories also are in the film- including the popular basketball player and his girlfriend and plenty of their friends, making the outsider a popular kid with a changed life in the proccess, but his newfound popularity and brand new life comes into jeopardy when he falls for the basketball player's girlfriend and she doesn't push him away, all leading up to an explosive finish). Wow, this is a lot of writing, is anyone gonna read all this? And do you think all these people emailing me have been straight with me (though it's hard to imagine otherwise), and I'll have the medical relief, relaxation, and inspiration of pot legally for the next decade, and I'll soon get to make my film? And what about the legality of having pot found by a police officer in my car, even if I'm... legally allowed to have it, at least at home? Send me happy thoughts, my people, and thanks for reading about my little tale. Stay cool/Be strong, Alexander
What questions should I ask a new Dr? I am being sent to an internal medicine specialist due to my high cholesterol. I have been on Lopid since December and have been eating a low cholesterol diet but when I went and had a recheck my cholesterol had gone up significantly. I never know what I need to ask a Dr. I have many medical issues such as; depression, fibromyalgia, anxiety attacks, stress/migraine headaches, mitral valve prolapse, insomnia, smoker who is currently trying to quit, I am overweight, and have extremely high cholesterol. I am on many medications. My Dr. said she will be faxing my information to the Dr. but I'm not sure if she is only faxing the blood test results or all of my medical information. I am planning on writing down all of my medication and dosage information just in case but I don't know what I need to ask the Dr. I am wanting to lose weight but with my fibromyalgia exercise is very difficult and very painful. I am worried due to my mitral valve prolapse combined with the high cholesterol. Both of my parents passed away from heart disease when I was a teenager and I have 2 kids so I am very scared that they will have to go through the same thing as I did. One problem is that I don't have a true family medical history because I was adopted by my paternal grandparents (they were the ones who died) and I have no contact with my biological mother, I have only met her a couple of times and have no idea how to contact her to get the information. So after all of that information does anyone know what questions I should ask to make sure I get the most out of the Dr. visit and to make sure any treatment will not harm me or make other conditions worse. I am a 36 year old female who is 5'3" and weighs 193 lbs. in case that information may be relevant.
